I wake at night (almost every night) and panic because I think my dreams are reality. I will often dream about people in my room. People I know and don't know. I sit up in my bed and see them there in my room and believe what I was dreaming about is actually happening until a minute later and then I wake up and see there is nothing there. My husband is fed up and wants me to go to the doctor but I don't want to take sleep meds. I'll dream about anything from lost children in my room to animals crawling all over .........ugh!!!! If anyone can share some suggestions...... I need help!

You're obviously experiencing anxiety about something that is happening in your life. This anxiety is so intense that it's taking the form of near-hallucinations. Sleep medicine often suppresses dreaming, which is unhealthy. I would speak to a doctor to see what he recommends. Once you understand what is troubling you, these nightmares should diminish or disappear. This is something you can't handle on your own. See a professional to determine your next step.

You maybe experiencing some anxiety and night time is when it rears it's head. See your doctor. Sleeping pills may not be the answer. Rather something for anxiety instead.
