My husband is 32 and going to take his GED test in July. I have been studying the practice books with him, but some of that stuff in there is really hard!! I graduated from high school when I was 17 in 2002, and I dont remember a LOT of what is in some of these books. So, on stuff that I have forgotten, or never knew I dont have much luck teaching him about it...LOL...I was just wondering if some of you might have taken the GED test and how hard you thought it was. He has been out of school for about 15 years now. Do you think he has a good shot at passing it?? He is very strong in his math skills, but weaker in English/Writing. Thanks for all your answers!! God Bless!

My ex boyfriend who is now my best friend got into a bunch of trouble and had to go to a boy's home and it was kinda like a camp and they provided an education for him and he decided he wanted his GED and he studied for it and passed on his first try! Hello.
You shouldn't worry too much about the test.
Take your time, and just one time, try to sit down and take an entire practice test. It should take anywhere around 6-10 hours. Many of the questions asked are fairly basic questions, and many of them you'll probably know from experience. The GED test is not there to test your memory but to check your problem solving and thinking ability.
Better yet, in order to pass you only need around 65%(on all subjects of course)
there are several on-line websites to help you study.

irritating is unproductive. sign in for a close-by GED classification or start up reading any respectable GED prep instruction manual e book. each minute you spend in a GED classification or reading a prep instruction manual will make the try greater handy. concentration your capacity on getting waiting for and passing the GED try. do not waste your capacity on irritating approximately it.

I've tutored for the GED and it's easier than it looks in the review books. Most of the answers are multiple choice. As far as writing is concerned, work with your husband on the "spelling demons," words that sound alike, but have different meanings, such as:wait, weight; there, their, they're, etc.
