Everyone knows that Mcdonalds food is'nt exactly the healthy way to go, but whats with their introduction of friut bags and carrot sticks? are they really concerned for a childrens diet and are trying to encourage healthy eating or are they merely worried about recent damning documentarys and trying to find a way to keep customers. Besides, fresh salad in a fast food joint..i think not.

Of course they're not concerned, or they'd get rid of all of the rest of their menu. They're just following the market. And I'm glad that they are adding nutritious choices. Kids that think anything from McDonalds is cool will start eating some fruits and veggies. Moms and folks like me actually have the choice to have a healthy alternative. Sometimes when I'm on the road, then fast food is the only alternative, and I patronize only the places that have salads and baked potatoes, etc.

They have to do it because everyone else is doing it. I work at Subway and recently we got "fresh fit meals" and with that came apple slices and raisins instead of cookies or chips. Its a nice concept but I feel like everything else is too tempting for most people. Its probably good for parents who can control kids food choices though And at Subway I feel like people think its healthy automatically so they get the biggest sandwiches with all the cheese and all the sauce and it probably ends up being just as bad with calories as something you'd get from McDonalds. But thats why they do it, keep up with the competition. We had to start toasting the sandwiches since thats what Quizos did.

I actually think it's a quite exhilarating idea. No, people don't go there for healthier foods, but let's say you were starving, a healthy-eating person, & that was closest place. Then it would be a god thing. On the other side, no,most people won't choose those type things because that isn't the type of foods Mcdonald's is known to have. It depends on what you're food choices are. ♥Morgan♥

i think any restaurant that is trying to offer more healthy choices is a good thing, the question is whether the public will go for it, and choose those healthier options! unfortunately, i know my kids will always pick fries over the carrot sticks. however, i then will tell my kids they won't have soda if they choose the fries. i think healthy options are always a good thing. their salads are pretty good, actually. however, if you add all the other ingredients besides lettuce, it becomes very unhealthy quickly!

It's called Market Analysis. If people demand healthy foods, they will sell healthy foods. They're a business.

If people stop eating Big Macs, they'll stop selling them.

That's why the McRib is only available for a "limited time." They can't sustain sales of it for more than a month or two at a time.

Noone wants to eat fresh sald or fruit after a burger and chips do they? I dont think it makes sense, trouble is there are parents out there who think if they give a child a bit of fruit afterwards then its ok to feed them junk. Mcdonalds would be better off by flame grilling the food instead of frying it if they want to appear healthier.

i think it's a combination of both. i don't care what is McDonald's reason behind having more health options. but I'm glad they are doing it. because this country is getting fatter and fatter.and so it the rest of the world too. i just hope people will choose the healthier options instead of the big macs

I think they are being forced to go healthy. If you didn't notice already, they started putting nutrition facts on the food. They have water, salads, etc.

McDonald's will never be healthy. Even with their salads and fruit stuff.
