I have an older 26 ' HDTV and its a samsung. I have started to get purple fuzz on the screen. it looks almost like interference but occuring on parts of the screen. I assume it could be screen burn. If so the lcd screen is damaged. What other problems could it be. If so how much could it cost for the repair including labour?

if the person could tell me in £ sterling! then that would be great! Please please help!

LCD technology doesn't suffer from screen burn in like CRTs and Plasma screens. It is more likely a problem with the control circuitry that modulates the LCD shutters to allow light to get through. If that part of the screen is very dim, it could also be a failure of the CCFL backlighting.
