My boyfriend is cheap, help?

My boyfriend always wants to go out, but never pays for us. I am always picking up the bill. He will just glare at me like, are you going to get that. I can't afford to keep doing this, I am living from pay check to pay check. What do I do?

Don't be afraid of him. Flat out tell him that you are on a budget and prefer to go dutch (pay for half) when going out. Say a positive (example: "I enjoy going out & having fun with you") but then be assertive ("I can't afford to go out all the time.")

You two need to find cheaper ways of doing fun things. There are tons. Going for walks, spending time at Borders book store, going to the beach, etc etc. SO many people are in your position. You needs to establish & maintain strict financial discipline. If the guy truly cares for you, he will make an effort to accomodate your situation. If not, move on to someone else. Guys who get their girls to pay for them are extremely lucky because there are so many other guys that would pay for thoese girls on dates.

Stand up for yourself! Next time before you go out, just simply say "This time you're paying though because I've paid the last few times".

While you may feel uncomfortable confronting this initially, it's so much better to spend a couple of minutes being uncomfortable than stewing on it for weeks/months on end!

If he can't afford to do these things, then he should be suggesting more economical things to do, rather than just expecting you to pay.

dump HIM. trusst me or keep reading... my ex was like that... it was ridiculous. i paid for EVeRYtHIng. clothes, food, movies, shoes, gas you name it. stupid me did it for 1 1/2 years. He did not have a job most of the time but when he would get hi 600-1000 dollar paychecks do you think he repaid me in anyway. NO!... so i finally got rid of him and am dating someone completly opposite and gotta tell u its AWSOME not having to pay for everything. Id say talk to him about it let him know whats up... if he cared hed change.

Next time he wants go to out,say as long as he pays for it that's o.k. as you are broke.
If he pulls a face,ask him if he thinks you have unlimited cash flow.Tell him you can't afford him anymore unless he pays his way.He sounds like a bum and a user,you want to drop him before he puts you in debt.

If you can't afford to keep doing it then stop doing it. If he doesn't like it, direct him to the door. He's only using you because you're letting him use you.
