I mean after the tsunami struck a few years back i read a few reports that christians were going to the homeless people over there and offering food, housing and other stuff in return for the people to convert to christianity.

Thats so low down and dirty. I also read a few years back about how these christians gave a bicycle to this guy and said if he converts, he'll get more stuff. The guy was poor so he agreed.

That is extremely low down and immoral. BUYING FAITHS. lol

I am a Christian and I have never heard of such things we are supposed to show we are Christians by our Love not by buying things for people. The people that do this kind of thing are in big trouble with God. You can not buy your way into the Kingdom. We are to show people how good it is when you accept Jesus Christ. He is the only free gift there truly is. I can only pray that there are not too many people that do this to other people. Your right it is low down and immoral and I will add it is against God

They are LOSING Christians in the West - some British people now return to their pagan beliefs and worship fire and sky - others are just atheists and agnostics so those homeless, poor constitute a good market for missionary activities

That is crazy. I would be one of those people going to offer food, housing and other stuff, but hoping that by example they might wonder why I am the way I am and want to know more. I can't imagine bargaining like that. God is the one who changes someone's heart. I have had to relearn that on here because it is so frustrating and tempting to want to show the scoffers my "proof", but I can't do that. I will just make myself mad. They will not see it unless the Spirit has prepared their heart.

I never heard that. If it's true it's giving Jesus a bad name. Nobody becomes a christian that way anyway, it's only through belief in Jesus through divine revelation, so anyone who accepts the doctrine without having Jesus in their heart is not a true christian. And anyone who tries to 'buy' converts isn't acting in the name of Jesus on this. If you read the bible, Jesus didn't have to buy converts, nor did the early church. People were drawn to them because they spoke boldy and gave them the truth. Jesus was radical for his time and to follow him if you didn't really believe he was the messiah would have been dumb, as people knew they would be ridiculed or killed for that. Much like today actually.

who cares? i doubt what you say has any fact, but it is very easy to POINT THE FINGER at the people helping others and saying they are doing it wrong.

Please could provide a link to this case of a conversion for a bicycle as I have googled for it for ages and cannot find anything....

Would you prefer that Christian charities only helped Christians like muslim charities do??

First of all. Christianity does not only give to people if they convert. Christians have food shipped in and give it unconditionally. The converts come because they see that Christianity is kind and caring. That is something the governments in 3rd world countries aren't.

I would have to see the actual proof on this. You can't make someone buy their faith, they still aren't saved, so its useless. Unless somone wants to come to Christ, their 'salvation' is meaningless.

There are some pretty raunchy ministries out there that go abroad, and it probably wouldn't suprise me that they did it to get 'numbers', but as a whole, its wrong and would really have to see the proof.

you can"t make someone convert or believe in something that they don't. If it is true that people are doing this then that it is wrong but I'm sure most people would just say i converted now give me the stuff

I do not believe they do that . they may offer them a bible but you can not force some one to accept Jesus.
if any group are doing that they are not christian but I think muslims claim that when other muslims have changed of their own free will. christians must show love not pressure.
