What would be a valid reason.. that the Catholic Church would accept in having a child baptised in another parish?
My daughter is being baptised in a church in another parish, however I have to obtain a letter of permission from my parish that they are allowing me to baptise my daughter elsewhere. I'm not baptising her in the local parish because I don't attend them and don't want to for personal reason that I can't state to the church.

Any suggestions what would be a valid reason???

1. more of your family members attend the other church, it would be easier for all of you that way

2. you know the priest and would rather have him do it

3. they are more Liberal( or Conservative) than this church

4. you like the look of the other church and it would look nicer in pictures.

5 some one in you family or friends has a problem with your church and would feel uncomfortable

i know some of them are a little weird but i can't imagine what the problem is with your church if i knew i could be a little more creative with the answer. i hope you are able to use the church that you want. Good Luck

Parents are required to agree to bring up their children in the Catholic faith, yet many will not do so, and "shop around" for other weak pastors who might baptize anyway.

This is simply a way of making sure you're not trying to go "behind the back" of your own pastor, for nefarious reasons.

It probably is done accordng to the wishes of the local bishop, so is quite proper.

If you're not doing anything wrong, just do what is asked of you. Tell them you don't particularly like your home parish and you prefer to attend another. It's no big deal.

The Five reason's of creating a religion:

1) To perpetuate a bureaucracy that will perpetuate a retirement for the upper echelon
2) To provide life after death
3) To provide a system of government with it's own crimes, punishments, and social expectations.
4) To explain the explainable
5) To provide hope where there is no hope

#1 is their reason; #3 is their reason for you. God doesn't care, but the good-ol'-boys want their retirement! Go ahead and tell them to stick-it. You can have your baby baptised anywhere you want in the eyes ot the all-knowing god.

I don't know how that works in your church. But if you are considering moving to the area of the other church, this should be valid.
