If not on a tour of duty. With getting 2.5 days off a month. Can you take a week, or two off in one month; instead of taking just 2.5 days off in a month? Thanks.

the 2.5 days is how fast you earn the leave. you can take it in chunks, usually no more than 2 weeks at a time. whenever you put in a leave chit and it is approved. youmay carry over leave from fiscal year to FY, with a maximum of 60 days. if you have more than 60 days on the books, that is called use or Lose, and you MUST take it before the end of the Current FY or you you not only don't get to take it, you don't get paid for it either.

Actually, you are not accurate. You EARN 2.5 days a month for each month of service. You don't have to use it each month. You can carry it over, month after month, until you reach the maximum, which, when I was in was 60 days. Then, when you want to take leave, you can take a week, two weeks, or an entire month off, assuming that your boss approves the leave, and there aren't a bunch of others wanting to take leave at the same time.
You should be receiving a Leave and Earnings statement every month. It will tell you how much leave you have on the books. If you get more than 60 days accrued, then during the year, you would have to take some leave, to make sure that you don't have more than 60 days at the end of the year, or you loose the extra days. Most military personnel who make a career of the military end up with a balance, toward the end of their careers, and end up selling it back. It is like receiving an extra month or two of pay, when you retire. You can also go in the hole, but usually only for emergencies. Each month, you get another 2.5 credited to your account. I always felt that it was a good idea to have at least 7 days saved up, in case you had something unexpected come up, like going to jail for DUI or something (althought that never happened with me)

I believe that you are talking about leave. If that's the case, you EARN 2.5 days of leave per month, for a total of 30 days per year. You can take your leave as soon as you have earned it, and the work schedule allows it. I don't think that you would want to take 2 days of leave a month when you have enough time off during the month.

Days off during the month are usually 8 days a month. Just like civilian jobs, you work Monday thru Friday and have the weekends and holidays off. The good thing about holidays, is that they are usually 4 day weekends.

This is taking into consideration that you are not deployed, and the work schedule allows it.

Yes, you simply ask your Commander or 1st Sgt for leave time. The time is then taken from your annual accrued leave available. Better be in good standings before you ask though!
