It got raw & healed,then1 on his neck(same) and now on his ear??? What is this? They seem to make him itch and scratch.

If they are itchy and raw they sound like hotspots. I would take him to the vet and he can give you some cream and pills to clear them up.

Sounds like an allergy or parasite. If they are the same and if he still has them, then take him to the vet to get some meds, to either clear them up or relieve them.
Also, if you're in the South USA, and he sleeps outside (even during the day), then he might have fire ant bites, mosquito bites, or even a reaction to flea bites... but the local Vet should be able to diagnose.

You need to take him to the vet and see how to best treat these. The fact that they are recurring is the reason to go to the vet.
My dog had some, but after I shampooed her with Sulfadene Shampoo, they never came back, so I didn't have to worry about having her seen.

It could be just old age, but I'd suggest a vet check just to be sure.
