Yes, oh yes........
I have had several major lessons come in my dreams but the most life changing was around three years ago. I went to bed with the same amount of hatred I'd carried for brother-in-law, and had this simple, short but most profound dream.....
I appeared in front of him outside his house in bright daylight,
and I had this golden light shinning from me or around me, and a smile which felt as big as The Buddhas, and I can say I never felt anything like this absolute unconditional love, compassion, acceptance, kindness, immeasueable joy, peace, trust,(you get the idea) for anyone let alone my worst enemy! As I glided toward his rigid, angry body, I simply hugged him and as I did, I heard the words ever so sweet and gentle, (male voice) "Hate is the enemy, not people. You, my dear one, are your own obstacle to peace." The hug lasted only seconds, he stood rigid, not hugging back, but it did not matter. Nothing could shake this feeling, this pattern of energy called Love. I was it. It was me. I was Bliss.. When I awoke The hate I went to bed with was GONE! I let go of all resentments toward him! He did not know what to say when I called him two weeks later, (I had to make sure this feeling would last and thank the Universe, it has) to call a truce, and it was not me saying 'I forgive you' as if he was the only one wrong, I took response ability for my half. It was AWESOME and to this day I see how my judgments of others caused my hate to remain. My own choice to hate truely was my own obstacle to peace!
Hallelujah! Can I get a witness!
Peace everlasting!
Wow! That was beautiful Gaz!

Yes...the thought or idea..? The notion that all experience is Impermanent.
We normally think of experiences in terms of Permanence. This is because our consciousness places this preconceived idea on every experience. Let me give an example...
We see a beautiful flower. We acknowledge its beauty in the moment generally by saying.."Oh, wonderful, a beautiful flower.." Do we not..?
A week later we see the same flower, yet it has faded, we generally acknowledge this by saying.."Oh, how sad, the flower has faded.." Is this not so..?
What has happened is the consciousness has placed a preconceived condition on the beauty of the flower, that preconceived condition is the condition of Permanence. Yet, our own eyes see Impermanence. Our senses and our consciousness are at odds. Not only this, we have made a false decision based on our false perception, we have decided that the sight of the faded flower is sad.
The truth is that the true nature of the flower's beauty is that it is Impermanent, yet we Perceive Permanence and we then base our ideas and decisions on a false perception.
We are living in a dream because it is then realised that we base all our ideas and decisions on our consciousness. Our consciousness is clouded from the truth because of this preconception. Our reality is not what we think it is, our reality is false because of our consciousness.
Yes, my perceptions of my reality and how my senses see this reality has now shifted. I now see and perceive the same reality...I prefer to base decisions on reality as opposed to a clouded and preconceived reality....
Peace from a Buddhist....

My perception of reality changes on a daily basis depending upon what mood I'm in. Honestly, one event changed my perception on every issue and belief I ever had, and since that particular day I have wanted to go back to not knowing what I know now. Ignorance is bliss. The truest statement ever written. : )

CONTENTMENT: I believe this word is under-appreciated, whereby Happiness is overused. Happiness comprises the ups & downs of life, which are required for their own self-definitions. But to be effective, both the ups & the downs need to operate on a solid foundation of Contentment. I found this insight to be essential to my sense of well-being. Now I can accept disappointments with equanimity.
I realize this isn't philosophically very profound, but I DO think it is an effective approach to life, and it's a basic principle available to all.

Yes, we are all in a state of creating our own realities.
The events in which confirm my experiences is in the knowing that nothing happens by accident, all things happen for a reason.
