Jesus will return to take the faithful home at the rapture soon, and then Jesus will return to the earth for Judgement of the nations. Then after the goats and sheep(Symbolicly) are seperated, Jesus will rule the world with an Iron skepter. Jesus will return after the 7 year tribulation. I believe it will be this life time, but why are people saying 2012. It will not be the end of the world when Jesus returns, as there will be no more wars. After the 1000 years rule of Christ, then this earth will be burnt up as it will be the end of age(human history) and there will be a new Heaven and a new earth, and only the those who put their trust in the Saviour will live there who lived a life pleasing to God. So about tis 2012, where did people get that year from. In 2000 people thought the world was going to end then. I am gland it did not as I was not saved then.

Only a very, very small percentage of Christians believe the world will end in 2012. I work for churches and do not know a single Christian who believes that.

People have been naming dates for the end of the world since there have been people. Not all Christians take the book of Revelation literally as a prophecy. Some are more inclined to believe that the end of the world, means the end of their own personal world and the beginning of a new enlightened life.

Since even the angels don't know when the end will come, it's doubtful that anyone on Earth knows. There is no scripture to support a rapture. There is scripture that tells us about a place of safety in the mountains for God's people, just before Jeruselum is attacked; but no scripture promises a rapture before the tribulation period begins.

The question really is when would Jesus come back again. Judgment of the earth will happen after Christ's thousand years rule. Christians are exhorted to be prepared for Jesus' coming at anytime by being sons of God.

The Mayan calendar has the world ending in 2012

Do you have any idea how many times this has been said decade after decade. People have been setting dates for the end of the world since about the 4th century. The world will end when (and if) it does and not any sooner.

You know, I have a list of failed end of the world prophecies, it has about 80 on there over the past 2000 years.

You're "gland" that the world didn't end?

I'm happy to hear that, I guess. So now that you're "saved", though, you'd be okay with the world ending? I hope to hell you don't vote, or participate in public policy-making in any way.

Because the Mayan calender ends in 2012 and they called themselves the time keepers. Don't worry, I will see you in 2013.

I think they're saying 2012 because the Farmer's Almenac is only written up to that date.

I think Soul Shaper is right also.

Just another guess that someone is basing on something that doesn't mean anything. They've written a book, and they are putting all their many royalty monies into long term growth bonds, no doubt!
