Nothing "wrong" is kind of a wide statement and open to a lot of interpretation.

If you mean is it 100% accurate and true, that too is open to a lot of interpretation, but fortunately scientific fact tells us it is not, particularly in the old testament.

The bible, like the Koran and even the Iliad and the Odyssey is early man's interpretation of who we were, how we got here, and how to explain things that were going on around them. As the sole means of saving documents, it's also a collection of stories, many of which were passed down from multiple generations. As with any information which gets circulated verbally over time, many aspects of the stories are bound to change and get exaggerated.

I'm not trying to insult Christians and Jews, and especially Fundamentalist Christians, but science can prove that a number of things in the bible didn't happen the way it was written, but I've never seen a shred of evidence to support that it is 100% accurate, other than people's faith, which of course they are entitled to.

I am struck by what Mrs.M has said, that people want to nit-pick about insignificant tid-bits? Are you serious? If the bible is from God, who is infallible, why would there be any contradictions? If you say, well, humans actually wrote it, it was inspired by God, as a perfect being, shouldn't he have made sure they wrote it down properly? If God inspired the writing of the bible, there should be no discrepancies whatsoever.

The truths within the stories are what is important, learning from mans mistakes and his relationship with God, following Jesus's example etc.

Of course man will make mistakes, he is not perfect, but the message behind the words are universal. That is truth.

The word of God is often confirmed by 2 or more people when one prays over someone else. People see things, hear things, both etc etc. Different discriptions and explanations from the various people praying, the resulting message, is the same though.

Confirming the word of ones peers is to stop Satan from giving false messages and prophesy.

If the Bible were literally true its errors would not need explaining on various websites, there would be no errors. If websites have to explain why the Bible doesn't mean what it says then the Bible is not literally true.

No book ever written is literally true as all writing contains metaphor, the Bible is no exception.

I agree. However, I see that many people seriously WANT to find fault with it. They nit-pick over whether it was 300 or 500 men and other insignificant tid-bits. With not really understanding that yes, many of the accounts are shared by men and if you have two different people seeing the same event, each one will have a slightly different variation of the story. (Check out what each of the apostles had to say about Jesus and the fig tree.)
BUT - the TRUTH in the bible remains the same. The basic tenets are unchanging -as is our God.
I mean - does it really matter that in accounts of Paul's conversion one of the men with him said he heard the voice and saw the light and that one of them said they only saw but not heard? When they ALL agree that Paul was visited and utterly changed?? I think not - but then again, I seek truth and not contradiction.

Really now?

So tell me which creation myth is the correct one? Who decided this?

How many men did the chief of David's captain kill was it 800 or 300? The bible says both...maybe they mean 1100?

How many kids did Abraham have 1 or 5? bible says both so maybe he had 6?

these are just few of the 380ish contradictions.

Wow, not only do you treat the bible as the 100% truth, you have whole websites to back it up.

That's utterly ridiculous. "Various websites"?

I don't care at all about Biblical contradictions: the fact of the matter is that the core tenets of the Bible (existence of god, intentional creation of the universe, existence of souls, life after death, etc.) are false.

If you claim that the Bible "has nothing wrong in it", you simply demonstrate that you're more interested in cheerleading for your belief system than you are in being honest.
