You just get married. Instead of a religious person, you have a justice, or Boat Captain or Pilot, or any notary. In Las Vegas, Elvis can marry you.

The list is endless.

Marriage is a legal contract between 2 people, how you want to dress that up, is up to you.

A church marriage for example, that does not include the legal part is not a legal marriage. However a marriage that contains the legal part, but no religious mumbo jumbo, is still a marriage.

Funny how that works.

A register office wedding is completely without reference to religion, and can be very dignified and well-done if you get a good registrar. More and more people these days, even those who aren't atheist, are getting married this way. It doesn't actually need to be held in the register office itself - you can have it in any recognised location, such as a hotel or hall, as long as it is registered.

Alternatively, the British Humanist Association offers Humanist weddings, if you find their approach more to your liking - see http://www.humanism.org.uk/site/cms/contentviewarticle.asp?article=1175 for details. You would still need a separate register office wedding though.

In a register office! No reference of any faith is in the service. It is a legally binding arrangement. I've married twice in a register office. It can be as smart or as casual as you wish. First time, I had no flowers and just 2 witnesses. Second time, I had 30 people to share it with me. Both times were as important.

That depends on if you want the marriage to be of legal documentation for reasons such as insurance or tax refund. If so then you have to be married legally, (you can probably find someone to skip the "before god" part!) If you have your legal matters in order such as last will, and health & life insurance, Then you can have a ceremony pronouncing your love before ( mother earth, friends, family) whatever you choose! We chose not to be wedded under god or government! But keep in mind there is no legal documentation for my method!

If you want to get married in a church, go ahead. You may have to pretend to be a christian, but it'll only be for a few months at worst. Once the wedding is over, you can happily continue as one of the enlightened. Or you may find you like christianity and continue going to church.

If you are in the US, you get married the same way everyone else does. On second thought, with this question, perhaps you shouldn't get married.

lots of them do, definite. "i think of the meaning of marriage grew to become into to unite your self to be guided via "God" perfect? you will desire to be married via a clergyman. i do no longer purely like the belief of this.." No. Marriage is an earthly legal settlement between 2 consenting adults and the State. It has no non secular implications in besides. The non secular matrimonial union that church homes call "marriages" is a thoroughly separate and unrelated concern, and one that, as an agnostic, won't likely interest you. in case you desire to get married, do it on the courthouse via a choose like maximum atheists and agnostics.

Most atheists just choose the best bits from Catholicism and forget the rest. eg. They want a big white, church wedding and They celebrate Christmas.

You could just skip the ceremony or else have a shindig! Alternatively, you could sacrifice a Muslim, just for the crack like, and to see the looks on everyones face when you do it. Just kidding! Have a party, that's all.
