I'm constantly being bombarded with ads for satellite TV deals, and cable TV along with long distance packages. Is there a deal that's cheaper or better in the long run? How should I evaluate which is best for me?

Pick the channels you like, not the total # of channels. Cable can have signal problems with static or in problems with digital channels coming in which are unfixable. Satellite is about useless in heavy rain and can ruin the look of your house.

Digital cable can sometimes become unstable with poor signal quality which at times can prevent a channel from coming through at all. Satellite is useless in storms particular storms which produce strong winds and heavy rain.
