Scenario:A man and a woman are in a relationship but not married and they have a child. They never get married. But they never cheat on each other and are very commited to each other and the child. They are truely happy and good people and stay together until death. Is this a sin in the eyes of God from the Bible? Will these two parents go to hell for this? Or is the offical marriage just a man made thing? Can they be "married" in their own eyes and hearts? These are honest questions, I want to know.

The scenario you suggest, in my opinion, would definitely be a marriage blessed by God. A piece of paper saying you are married means nothing in God's eyes. He judges the thoughts and intents of the heart. Peace.

Actually always God sees our heart, but man sees our external actions. So before men(humans- friends and realtives), mostly the couple marry, so that they do speak ill of each other. And all the other men will know that the girl is now a wife of this person. And so just as God created, man loves and protects and provides for His wife. And wife will love and give respect to him. The covenant to show this bondage with them is marriage.

Commitment to each other is marraige, so it is not sin. But God always sees the inner motives of man. So do everything in prayer and ask God to help you out.

See these verses, which God considers sin,
Heb 13:4 - Show Context
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

I don't think it is a sin, but many would say that it is. Actually marriage is just a ceremony, anyway.

And actually it is more of a "legal" thing then anything else.

Although I am against "gay marriage" personally, our government should butt out of the marriage business all together. There should be no term as "legally married." It is not and should not be the governments job to dictate the rules of marriage.

Of course, a couple of hundred thousand divorce lawyers wouldn't like that very much.

Unless they are born again, they will not see the kingdom of God. Also, it talks about marriage and divorce in the Bible so yes, they do have to be married. Yes, to not be married is to live in sin, but they are living in sin anyway if they are not born again and living for God. The road to hell is wide and paved with good intentions. All this is in the Bible. You must be born again (saved).

Again: it all depends on the rules you accept. You are free in most countried and in most religions to chose what faith you belong to. This is not the case in many muslim countries. In those countried it would be a sin and, again, depending what country, you can be severely punished.
All other countries and faiths: If you have accepted a religious community whose rules forbid behaviour like this, yes it is a sin. You have the choice to split with your partner of with your religion.
Why is this so difficult for so many people? When you join a club, you follow the rules, or you tru to change them following the rules about changing the rules. If you do not like the rules of the club, leave and start another club.
I have already indicated several times in this forum that god has told me he is getting really tired of all this nonsense.

In the eyes of the Scripture, the moment a man mates with a woman, he and she becomes ONE.

That's why sex is to be only between spouses.

Your example therefore is invalid. The two are therefore married even though they may not have gone through the ceremony.

ofcourse its very wrong religiously+socially, because one in thousads will be couple as u mentioned, otherwise if u allow freedom of man+woman living in that way will results in a horrible fights among them and there will no witness to solve those problems.so couple should marry in at least two persons witness.i hope u understand.

Yes, it's a sin.

Marriage is a sacrament.

Only God knows who will go to hell.

Supposedly to hell. But since God is all-knowing they go to heaven since god doesn't create souls that upset him. After all, it's not like god didn't know at the time he created the soul(s) they were going to do that....freewill included. So he must not have a complaint. No complaint means no condemnation.

As far as Christianity is concerned, if they never are unfaithful to each other and basically stay together or work sporadically as a tandem unit they are married.
