The area you're walking through would be a concern, as well as the potential for bad weather. A sudden downpour could sour your walking aspirations in a hurry.

I'd have no problem walking an hour in each direction, but any more than that and you're limiting other activities you can be doing instead of walking. I'd rather spend that time with my family, walking, riding bikes, playing games...

Depends on how far it is how much time you have to get there and how much traffic in between. I sometimes walk 2 miles to work at a steady walk I get there in 30-40 minutes.

Well I would say 2 miles or less, after an eight hour day, don't forget you have to walk back, lol

you should ask that question to yourself, on how much of a distance you're willing to walk!

some people can walk for hours with no complains, and some fat lazy bastards wouldn't walk for 10minutes!!

you also have to consider if the walk is safe(criminal elements), environment/pollution condition, etc etc

so i take it your new to this "walking" thing, its a rare condition but it is becoming more common with present populations. Perhaps you could find out yourself by trying it. Its not too hard. See once you find out how far you can walk, then you can find out how far to walk to work.
