A friend of mine changed his career from banking to plumbing. Both from a financial but also a job satisfaction point of view.He took an intensive course, but it was more like 3 weeks. He started by helping an existing one man plumbing contractor who was loaded with work and now a year later is doing very well and enjoying it.Whether you can achieve sufficient skills in 5 days I am not sure. Does the course help you find a job or give you contacts to help your career along? As a career plumbing is a good choice,as there is a shortage of them, but you need to be proficient, fair and honest in your dealings so as to build up a good reputation. As you get this reputation you will get more customers coming to you based on recommendations which will save you having to hunt around for work.Hopefully the business will keep on growing. Good luck anyway.

Plumbers are in great demand in the UK and get excellent pay. It is a good profession and plenty of work available. I would go for it and working as a plumbers mate will give you free education!

Basically, they give you a crash course which you can't take in all at once and remember what he/she has taught you.

A proper course gives you time and practical skills that you can soak in and benefit from.

I would choose the latter if it was me deciding.
