For example I have seen that the Pro-choice, Praying to Saints or the Homosexuality issues are a big divide among groups within the same faith!

Yes, and I'm sure you can relate. For example, we are converts. The Americans are wary because we are muslim, and the muslims are wary because we are americans. The best you can do is know that you can't control it, and not let yourself get upset or stressed over it. You have people who like you and people who hate you. You can't please em all, right? So, the ones who like you, keep their company, and those who hate you, just ignore them. Eventually the barking dogs quiet down, you know?

I agree with "Islam just 4 u"... That was a really good answer, and just to add to that....

This sort of division usually occurs not within the whole of the same religion but between different sects of the same religion which is a shame. As Muslims we should take into account the ayahs and surahs of the Quran and the many hadiths which provide clear answers for everything. One Muslims learn to do that I don't see why there should be a division. And what you are saying is completely true, I'm given "the eye" by both believers and non-believers for several different reasons.

The non Believers who knew me before I wore the hijab think that either I converted or somebody forced me to wear it, or that I have been brain washed. Believers look at me because they are sometimes not content with how I wear the hijab ( I cover completely all hair) and a lot of my Shiite friends stick their bangs out in order to differentiate between the Sunni.

Point is, there will always be such critical eyes no matter what, All we can do is to either educate those people in these matters or let them be, and concentrate on being a good Muslim and a good example for others.

Do you mean a critical eye or an eye towards criticism. I expect people to look at me with a critical eye making sure that I am living up to the standards of my faith. Of course there are others who are only looking to criticize and really don't care if I am living a good example of my beliefs or not.

Yes. Especially fundamentalists of any persuasions will always be critical of everybody else, that's why there is so much unhappeniness in the world.
It's a control thing. Fundamentalists want to control everybody. And that regardless of which religion they belong to.

By definition, a Christian is one who believes in the resurrected Christ, Jesus, the Son of God, co-eternal and co-participatory with the Father and Holy Spirit/Ghost at the creation of the universe.

This is where Christians find unity...we disagree on other points, but these are non-essential. Passionately held, yes, but non-essential nonetheless.

السلام عليكم

Well things of such nature do occur almost everyday. Ofcourse where there's people, there must be differences. But I beleive that we should take everyone along . We shouldnt agree to anything which is 'wrong' but just to maintain unity we must walk together. Which is one reason why such division & downfall amongst us.

well, yeah. that was one of the main factors for my ancestors immigrating to america. they were german lutherans, and there was a lot of struggle in germany between the lutheran and catholic churches. i see that you're a muslim. we hear about sectarian violence in the middle east every single day on the news. as long as their is religion, there will be religious persecution, and that will start with a ''critical eye.''

I am a pagan(Wiccan) and i find everyone within this area of belief to be very accepting of different views... there is even a branch who calls themselves elective witches meaning they take a bit of everything and dance to their own tune with the one main rule("do as ye will but harm ye none").....
Other religions are far to critical and self important to be of use to anyone. least of all themselves.

Yep..which is sad because we should be supporting each other...as long as it is in line with our respective doctrines aka..the Torah, the Bible, the Quaran...etc.

I know as Christians, if someone is not in line with Gods word it is our job to correct them kindly and privately with scripture.
