Creole is a dialect of standard French. The best way to become fluent is to listen and imitate the pronunciation and structure. People who speak Creole also understand standard French. And you can also speak English in NO.

The word is 'site' not 'sight'. As for creole do they realy speak it that much in New Orleans, especially after Katrina, lots of people moved away. They do speak it in the Seychelles. As for learning it, I think it's one of those dialects that you pick up from birth rather than learn. Normal French should be fine.
