You don't actually know history do you?
WW2 started in 1939 with the invasion of Poland.
you can even argue it started with Hitler's Anschluss in 1938.
the war ended in 1945 but had pockets of resistance till 1946 and even some Japaneses forces did not surrender till the 60's.
If your going to make a historical comparison try using real history not just your interpretation of history
also in ww2 we did did not have to worry about how people "feel" about our involvement and having to take sensitivity classes on how to treat POWs and whether or not to shoot at some one who is shooting at out own men.
You don't like how they are fighting the war that the left's fault. If the military did not have its hands tied with "Opinion polls" maybe things could get done.

Well I see the Terrorists, Number 1 Propagandist has found the right kind of question to ask. Nice to see that some people will agree on anything if it is said long and loud enough. You live in a nice neighbourhood, Thanks to the US Military fighting the Terrorists in other countries. Rather than in the USA. The only thing i can see you getting mad about is if someone cuts the power of to your Computer. Cause then you could not spew out your Hatred for the Military. You have not got anything right except, in what is rolling around in your head. But who is to say that none, of the Terrorists were not from Iraq. Ever heard of false Identities, YOU love to use those words the troops are dying for nothing don't you. Who says the Coalition cant win. The only ones who are saying that the Coalition cant win in Iraq Are the Terrorists and their Followers. The last part of your question is not worth an answer.

Look up the phrase 'fighting a limited war'. The actual war itself was won in a matter of a few days, as Saddam's government was removed. What is going on now is more of a civil war as the various religious factions kill more of each other, than US soldiers.
The days of basic weapons for the insurgents is over as other countries like Iran are providing weapons.
I don't agree with the way things are being handled, but your statements do not reflect much truth.
I suspect you just don't like the US like many on this site.

Please take a minute to compare the casualty counts on both sides for the last several wars we have been involved in and then tell me how terrible we are doing. Yes, it is unfortunate that so many fine men & women have made the ultimate sacrifice, but it is not in vain. The majority of Iraq is still in favor of our presence, and hopfully one day they will be a strong self-supporting country and a strong ally. Do take a moment to think about what my fellow service members are going through, have gone through, and will go through, and keep them in your prayers. And to the in-duh-vidual that says he does not have a choice. You do. You just may not like the consequences, although the military is a getting pretty lax on Contientious Objectors, simply offering discharges. My take on it is, don't join the military if you think you won't see combat.

You are comparing apples and Muslim insurgents, Nazis to oranges
Can you really compare the tactics of a European war that both sides base there tactics off of an "Art of war" style with that of Arabic guerrillas that base their tactics off of the 36 Stratagems?
Additionally, the weapons that are used in todays war are an inexhaustible supply of unused ordinance as opposed to military ordinance that was rarely allowed to fall in the hands of civilians and when they did, they caused cartographic casualties.
You say they fight like the Flintstones, I missed the episode where Fred has an RPG launcher, various Islamic backings, and more unused Iraqi Republican Guard munitions than he knows what to do with. Ya-ba-dabba-BOOM!

American Revolution took 6 years, The French and Spanish combined lost a little over 6000 people, and contributed millions of dollars from 1775-1781.
Good thing other countries were willing to go out on a limb for our existence, and our democracy

If WWII were being fought today, it would take 100 years. Because every time we dropped a bomb, and they showed the people who died on TV, someone like you would be whining how we killed innocent civilians in the war and our military are all murderers and war criminals. If we fought this war like that war, and simply bombed the country into submission, many innocent civilians would die. That is what they are trying to avoid. In doing so, it is hard to isolate terrorists who know this and hide behind women and children.

No, I am not ashamed of being an American; i am not ashamed of having served my country in Iraq; I am not ashamed of risking my life in a foreign land to preserve the freedoms of strangers; I am not ashamed of defending my beliefs; I am not ashamed of doing what I believe is right.
Not at all.
I am proud of wearing the American flag on my right shoulder and the words US ARMY on my chest; is the kind of pride that will never leave me and even though my name will be but a memory when I die; my honor will remain true and that makes me immortal. No matter what anyone else says.

ok they dont have basic weapons, they have aks, ozzis, anti-aricraft, rocket launchers, grenades and so on and so forth. you CANNOT compare iraq to wwII or any otherwar for that matter, maybe a little vietnam. in ww2 we were figting fronts or battles meaning we could see the enemy. with the insurgency our guys go into town and all of a sudden they get blasted by a rocket launcer. you cant fight that because you have no idea who is your enemy and who is not due to guerilla warfare. if you think our military is so bad, why dont u sign up and go off to iraq yourself and see what kind of a hellhole it truely is before u diss the men and women sticking their asses out on the line for you everyday

Maybe it's because they don't fight like a conventional army nor have any regard for life, theirs or any one Else's. We are supposed to treat them with the respect that soldiers get by following the Geneva conventions rules and they laugh at us. Maybe it's because part of our leaders in Washington have invested in defeat just to make our president look bad because he won the white house twice. In both world wars we had one thing going for us we were united. Today we are not we are only as strong as our weakest link and divided we will loose united no one can beat us.
