Well, I have the same hair and you described. I use a Remington Wet2Straight. You can find it at Wal-Mart. It comes in two different sizes. The only difference is the 2" plate is about $30-$40 while the 1" is about 25-30.

A chemical straightener can be done by a salon.
If you want a temporary solution (1 to 2 days) you can use a True Ceramic Pro flat iron. No other brand works like this one. It is expensive, but you only have to buy it once. Look for it under: trueceramicpro.com

you could get is chemically relaxed at your local hair salon. Look into price ranges and how its done to see if its right for you. If not there should ve some products at a CVS store near you that straighten hair without spending too much money.

I think you should try getting it chemically straightened at a salon, it's kinda like getting a perm but instead of curl you get straightened.
