I think war sucks but I do think we are getting somewhere. I base that on the hundreds of brave men and women that I personally speak to.

War is never worth it. War is only ever fought over resources and land. There has never been a war fought over moral values. Take WW1 - war for land and power. WW2 - we have reinvented history so much that we think the war had something to do with saving the Jews from concentration camps when in reality it was a war for resources and land - Hitler want the oil fields and Steel mines etc in Russia and other resources from the Middle East. The Allies weren't going to let that happen. Japan needed resources that were scattered all around Asian and the Pacific. The Concentration camps weren't discovered until the Allies were half way across Germany.

Iraq 1 was preserve oil fields in Kuwait and Iraq 2 was simply a huge oil grab for multi national companies.

What are we talking about? War in general, US wars, or the Iraq war?

War in general:
Inevitable and needed. Stops the Hitlers and Stalins from world domination. We are working towards an end to war, rogue states need to be absorbed before we can lose the fear of significant wars. (Such as N Korea into China). In the scenario where only rational states are allowed to exist Mutual Assured Destruction keeps the world at peace

US wars:
70 percent were worth it. Vietnam and Iraq were the only two that weren't needed for Americas safety, the civil war while it stopped slavery, left America divided and an economic liability decades afterwards

Iraq war:
Could of been worth it, but all screwed up now due to lack of preperation and not listening to key military leaders resulting in an overall lack of situational awareness.

War is bad, but if an enemy threatens you, you must attack with all your might. None of this half spirited fighting in Vietnam and now Iraq. The troops in Vietnam were purpusly held beack by Johnson and McNamara from winning the war. By the time Nixon got in, It was to long gone to win. Ask most nam' veteran and they'll tell you.

Being in a war is never a good thing. It brings destruction and death. However, it may be necessary to utilize military muscle because of other countries ignorance such as what is going on in Korea that threaten other countries. I wish there was no such thing as war. I hope this war with Iraq will be over real soon.

I Feel war is something that seems to never end. It seems like there is never really peace in the world because someone is always fighting , it is a horrible thing it just causes death, and turmoil and unhappiness, there is never any good coming from it.

War is about power and money. Those who risk their lives gain little. The G.I. Bill is a mere shadow of what it used to be.But many rich men are becoming much richer. This is not a new idea.

Bidding for all products for the militia would desire to be mixed and there would desire to be a shrink of no better than 50% better than the conventional cost for a civilian according to merchandise placed on them. From what I have seen and heard, it's a 50/50 split. I listen to the soldiers and they seem to think the bureaucracy is slowing down the peace process.
