I mean in a serious manner. I know many people that get hounded by Protestants who admit that they have actually never been told that they are going to hell by Catholics.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows a Catholic who does this?

The first 9 years of my education were in a catholic school.

I was told repeatedly, that I was going to hell because I wasn't baptised, my parents weren't married, I questioned the bible too much, and a plethora of other reasons.

Granted, some of those were because I got in trouble fairly often; but to answer the question as posed...Yes.

Quite the opposite actually.

I have a friend who was a protestant minister. She was raped and became pregnant- she kept the child. No protestant church would hire her because she "set a poor example for the young people" and she would 'go to hell"

She found the only people who supported her decision were Catholics....and she became a Catholic!

You see- Catholics have it good---we KNOW we are sinners just like everyone else....but we have the Sacraments to help us along the way!

I've actually never been told that i was going to go to hell by any Catholics. I was even Catholic myself for a while, and I still never heard it.

Thats not to say that Catholics don't tell people that they're going to hell, I'm sure some do. I've just never happened to meet one who thought I was.
I met some anti-abortionists who told me I was going to hell, but that doesn't nessicarily mean they were catholic, although its likely that they were. Oh well. I'll never know.

I surely have never instructed anybody that they'll hell because of the fact they do no longer seem to be Catholic. i grew to become into never taught this by utilising any priest or nun. I surely have never been to Mass the place different religions have been pronounced. Catholics are frequently greater tolerant than people of different religions. If any Catholic might worry to study the catchism they might learn that anybody who believes in God & Jesus Christ & tries to steer a solid existence might discover salvation. i know in my opinion that there are a number of faiths which practice their contributors prejudice against Catholics. i think of its because of the fact they could desire to describe why they are no longer Catholic because of the fact their faith grew to become into shaped for the time of or after the reformation.

No. It just seems to be the Evangelical Protestants and the Baptist.

I have quite a few Catholic friends and neighbors and they don't jam their faith down my throat. I have never had the priest come to my house trying to convert me.

I am a catholic. Sorry, we don't believe in a God of vengeance. We believe in a God of unconditional love and mercy. Our doctrine of hell, is "not to look upon God's face." This means if you are not worthy your soul will die with your body.

Catholicism is a very optimistic faith. We choose to believe in redemption above all else. We have uncomplicated our faith, and Christs own words were very simple, and it is from them that we take our message. Christ did not spend his time on earth trying to scare people. He was a guy who was full of joy, he loved fun, smiling, and he wanted us to enjoy life not fear it. This is why, he repeatedly told us, Do not be afraid.

I'm not all sure about the exact denominations but yes, I have been told by numerous people of some sort of christian faith that i'll be burning in hell. It's kinda annoying... I know not everyone does this and I have met Christian people who are open minded and don't try to force anything on me. Just some ya know.

Nope, but strangely enough I am a protestant who like you is against telling people they are going to hell. It is not helpful nor effective.

No, we believe all is forgiven except for suicide. That's why it's great to be us, so technically we can't. I have told people to go to hell but that was just because they pissed me off.
