I recently returned a flat of raspberries and some hamburger buns -- both had mold. The store manager was as shocked as if we'd come with guns and masks.

Cereal that tasted like a box of salt. The guy at the store tasted it and nearly puked, so no problem returning it.

I don't think I have ever returned anything, but I sure have raised cain when I was overcharged. I usually go to this Publix that is very bad about advertising things on sale and then you get up to the cashier and they charge you full price. And they have this policy that if you are charged the wrong price, you get it free! Wow, I have gotten free hair products, cat food, produce, an umbrella, and many more things I can't think of at the moment. It pays to be a cash register watcher.

I've returned spoiled produce. Some times you can't tell if something is good or bad until you cut into it. I've never had any problems with returns at all, better to replace a spoiled loaf of bread than to loose a customer.

I have returned sour milk.It wasn't past the expiration date, just was bad. The manager was apologetic, saying they were having problems with this supplier.I have also been at the grocery store and seen moldy bread on sale, and in the produce section, moldy fruit-gross.

I returned sour cream that was outdated and bacon that was also outdated. I chose to get my money back, rather than to replace the items. I also returned buns that were moldy and encourage all consumers to check the status of their purchases according to the date listed on the package.

Yogurt, when I got it home and hadn't checked the date and it was expired. Salad dressing, same thing. (I always check dates now!)

There was something else, I can't remember now. The cashier was a bit skeptic even though I had a receipt from the previous day, but I ripped the lid off and she just reeled from the smell and said OK, get another one!
