Durians fall on the day time as well. I believe people got misconcert that durians fall at night probably due to psychology reason.

As during night time, most of us are sleeping. When we woke up, more than 8 hours already passed, thus there is higher chance to find durians under the tree. Whereas during day time, while waiting, even 2 hours we will feel a bit too long, thus have the feeling of durians only fall at night.

Not true.maybe you see durian on the ground in the early morning because some animals who feed on ripe fruits eat at night, like bats for example. Because of their volume(bats), durian fruits cant carry their weight.

Helen buys the fresh ones and told me of dodging them when growing up. The only way she would go into trees at night was if the VC were firing mortars close to the house. You are talking about those over sized stinky thangs

They fall all day long...it's kindof a dare by the durian..."look at me, so helpless...I dare you to eat me."

Because they're trying to keep themselves a secret!
