They're about 1/4 of the way out and are really sore when I chew in the back of my mouth.

the orajel may or may not help, and if it does it will only work for a very short time. A good suggestion is to go to the store and look in the baby isle for a product called hyland's homeopathic teething tablets. This is what i started using for my son after he started cutting his baby teeth (im not really into the whole idea of giving any child any actual medication even tylenol if there is another option that works just as well). I can assure you this WILL work with pain associated with incoming wisdom teeth seeing as how i took it for my own wisdom teeth.

Having wisdom teeth come in is the worst! It won't 100% fix your problems, but I've found cloves works way better than Orajel. I usually just chew them a little bit, put them around the affected area and wait.

Ora-gel is similar to the topical anesthetic the dentist puts on your gums before giving the shot of novocaine. It's effect is very temporary - as you found out... If you're a minor - ask your parents first, but if it were me, or my kid, I would go with taking ibuprofen. But remember this - ibuprofen (advil) should not be taken on an empty stomach - eat something or at least drink a glass of milk before - otherwise the ibuprofen will give you an awful stomach ache. Another good thing to do is ice the area. A cold compress on the outside OR if you want - buy a baby teething ring type thing that can go into the freezer, then chew on it. I remember as my wisdom teeth came in, all I wanted to do was chew on something back there. It helped to relieve the pressure. You should consider a visit to your dentist to figure out if you even have enough room for the wisdom teeth. Good luck & feel better~

Oragel will help some, but not very much. It might numb your gums but your jaw may still be sore. Oil of clove helps if you put it directly on your tooth, don't let it touch your gums or tongue (it burns). You should probably go to the dentist and have them removed. When wisdom teeth come in they can cause your other teeth to shift in order to make room for them.

I think they put some sort of topical anaesthetic in it, and that's good. However, you might not be happy with the baby version (they would naturally put less of the active ingredient). Maybe try the Orajel product for denture pain instead.

cloraseptic makes a new mouth spray and it works wonderfully. it costs like five to six bucks a bottle but it is defenitely worth it.
