honestly, i HATE social science classes like ethics and sociology. you don't learn anything useful and the material isnt really concrete. people always say that taking these classes makes you become more of a "critical thinker" but i totally disagree.

the only exception to the rule is economics. i love econ cause its not like most social sciences. its also helpful since most of the concepts are important in trying to pursue a profitable career. but anyways, math is great cause the material/answers are concrete. in math, theres an obvious difference between the correct/wrong answers whereas in ethics theres no clear black and white. math is one of those subjects where "it is what it is" and i think that makes it easier to understand.

anyone agree?

for me, some people might prefer social science over math because social science gives room for any changes, while math is a law itself-- it is exacting like when you ask 1 added to 999 is 1000 and there's no other answer to it. while social science derives its so called "joy" from the uncertainty of the behavior of what a person is-- the individuality, like if there's pond of water a person may not always test it if its shallow or deep... hope that helped.

Why do you bring this matter up? Are you having problems with some of your studies at school? Don't stress yourself over it to much, if that's the case. You, apparently, are one of these people who cannot tolerate ambiguity in life, but you can take solace in the knowledge that there are many more people like you. Unfortunately, you will learn that most things in life are ambiguous and disorderly. After all, just look at the state of our country, or for an even better example, just look at the state of mind of our so-called president. One can't get much more disorderly than that. Good thing for us we won't have to deal with him much longer.

I must admit, being a math major myself, that there is a certain security to the precision and absoluteness of most mathematics. Whenever you are feeling overwhelmed by the chaos of the universe and its indecisiveness, just remember you can always turn to mathematics to bring you back down to earth and save your sanity. However, don't get to thinking too much about things like the concept of infinity or string theory, or you may become disillusioned with the universe yet again.

Well, sorry to dissapoint; I do like history over math... Although I still like math...

Anyways, I think it is because math requires the brain to put more torwards processing rather than info recollection. And thinking is more stressful than recalling memories...
