That makes atheism a house of cards, because thats a weak foundation to say the least. The foundation of creationists is that things look created because they are. You don't get complex things from space rocks.

atheists - In a debate it will always come down to topics about origins.

Girl Wonder - Everything you debate as an atheist depends on you being right about origin theories. And evolutionary theories have serious problems. Thats just the truth.

Girl Wonder - Also, I think you meant that I do not show blind acceptance of evolution even though it has serious problems. You should not either.

The word atheism means the belief that there is no God, or the DOCTRINE that there is no God. So an atheist should have reasons why he believes in no God, including beliefs regarding origins. And what you believe regarding origins is foundational to all your other doctrine!

Atheist - Thats because they have the silly belief that the proof evolved from space rocks.

Some things are very difficult to understand, some very simple. Atheists think that since atheism is simply the lack of belief in any gods, it wouldn't be tough to figure out that the foundation of atheism is, for whatever reason, one does not believe in any gods. They are right, but for some reason others just don't get it so we see a lot of questions like yours.
Atheism is the lack of belief in any gods. Period. It is not the belief that the big bang happened. It is not the belief in abiogenesis on earth. It is not the belief in reason or logic. It is not materialism. It is not humanism. It is one thing and one thing only- not believing in any gods. Why this seems so hard for some folks to grasp is a constant source of wonder to a lot of atheists.
Do many atheists accept the findings of science that everything we see today is the result of space dust? Yes, but that's not because of atheism. Many theists also accept the detailed findings of science in that regard. All atheism is is... you guessed it, I hope... the lack of belief in any gods.
Now if you want to argue that what we see today isn't the result of recombinging space dust you'll have to do more than assert your personal incredulity. You'll have to argue with much of modern science which has rather definitively shown again and again that the universe hasn't existed always as it is now but has, indeed, "evolved" from a much earlier period. The Big Bang has been demonstrated again and again, most notably by making predictions ahead of time that could well have been false but that turned out to be true. This is something that creationism has never done, by the way.
But to get back to your question, no. Big Bang cosmology is not the basis of atheism. Atheism is (it should be noted) simply the lack of belief in any gods. Most atheists will tell you that this is because of a lack of evidence for any gods. Objective, empirical evidence. Not that to you it looks like things were designed.
Theist- in debates it always comes down to a theist claiming that anything that puzzles us must have been done by the gods. It used to be this was everything. Rain, for instance, was kept in a storeroom by a god who let it out through windows in the invisible firmament, for instance. At that time we'd have gotten a question like "is rain falling from the clouds themselves the basis for atheism? if so, it's a weak basis." But over time science has explained so much of the current universe that the god of the gaps argument that seeks to say that any gap in our knowledge must be filled with "the gods did it" has retreated all the way back to the first life and the origin of the planets. Just as the god of the gaps argument failed for fire, rain, wind, the sun disappearing at night, etc., there's no reason to think it will work on origins. but you keep trying, don't you?

There is no "foundation" of atheism, any more than there is a foundation in not believing in Santa Claus. It is a lack of a belief, not a belief system in of itself.
Then, even if it were the foundation, and weren't a bit more complex than what you expressed, then it'd still be a far stronger foundation from a logical point of view than the one that an invisible being that has complete control of the universe, but hasn't done anything significant with this control in the last 1000 years or so, has always been, but just decided one day of a series of days stretching back into infinity that he was going to create existence, and when he created existence in a couple of days, he decided to play around and leave things, like streams of photons from distant stars and fossils, that make the universe seem to be much older than it is, to test everyone in it...
The size of the universe itself, which we are still completely unable to detect at present (we just know there are stars all round in every direction we can see them in), indicates that the notion that all this was created to show off to two humans, who were to have dominion over it, but have no control over it, is ridiculous.
Likewise, in a universe of seemingly limitless size, it becomes increasingly probable that even the most improbable of events would happen.

Good grief. Atheism doesn't imply evolution. It's simply the lack of belief in a deity (or, the belief that there is no deity).
For those atheists who wish to back up their disbelief in a god with alternative, non-theistic, explanations for the origin of the universe, life and Man, there are cosmogony, abiogenesis and evolution available - and tried, tested and verified.
And no matter how much your 'common sense' tells you that these things are impossible, the experts in the subjects have excellent cases. Don't you think you should find out what they are before blowing them off?

The only thing that constitutes Atheism is a lack of belief in god or gods. I don't quite get your fascination with 'space dust'.
Anything else are personal thoughts and ideas of individual Atheists. We do not all think alike like some groups of people.

Maybe if we didn't see it happening in space. But we do. The evidence is what supports the theory. I could say everything looks like cheese because it does - but no one has to listen to a word I say if I can't support it. And creationists simply have to provide something that wasn't designed to compare everything else to.
Yes, we do get complex things from space rocks. That's where we go this planet from.

The information you furnish, isn't information in any respect. No, its not stupid to have faith that the complexities of existence are the top results of a writer. particularly fairly the alternative. it particularly is stupid to proceed to be ignorant to the reality, clinging to the age-previous "god did it" tale, while the information proves in any different case. The failure to comprehend what technological know-how has shown (as adverse to the bible claiming) isn't information for a writer. It basically proves an unwillingness to look previous one e book.

Nope. The one thing that all Atheists share is that they do not believe in any god. Space dust has nothing to do with it, and you show very little comprehension of evolution or indeed, science at all.

The foundation of Atheism is one of `Universal Doubt' (The Sorbonne, Rene DesCartes, a Christian) We don't adopt our wild speculations as truth without evidence.

Em, we could be wrong about the origin of species. It till wouldn't prove god. Evolution doesn't hinge on god, it hinges on science. Nothing more,.
