I'm doing some historic and architecture research on a home formerly addressed at 241 Western. This would seem to be between Beverly and Oakwood, on the East side. Satellite maps show 3 narrow storefronts mid block. The house would have been set back 30 feet or so. Can anyone please tell me the tennants there, and if any of the buildings look like they were grafted onto a flatrooofed concrete residence? Also what business there would be numbered closest to 241? Thanks for your help!

Wow, thats a tough question. North of Beverly, so that would probably be 241 "North" Western Ave.? I lived in Hollywood for many years. I think the odd numbered addresses like yours..241..would be on the west side of the street. lst Street and Main St. begin our numbering system. Anything north of lst St would be N. and anything south of lst St. would be S. The even numbers are on the east side and odd numbers on west side. So east of Main St. is E. and west of Main St. is W. Not sure if I can come up with anything, but will see what happens.

I just did a search on Yahoo maps, it is south of Beverly and also south of Oakwood. Try yahoo maps and when it comes up click on Satellite and give that a try. Also Google has some good Satellite maps.
