Of course you shouldn't be here! The GB warns you not to. In "young people ask" articles and in the Kingdom Ministry [insider instructions for active JWs] you're warned against the "many dangers."

You're puzzled, though. Because the first dangers they warn you about are the pornography. Then they throw in the part about the evil apostates. Since they equate "apostasy" with "pornography," it's not a surprise to see them discussing it in the same breath.

You're confused because those of us who speak out against the mind control and corruption of the Watchtower Society are speaking logically and coherently. We can even spell. Go figure.

If I were still a JW, I would be here because of the scripture to provide an explanation to anyone who demands a reason for my faith.

"Why Is It Wise to Examine Your Religion?" That was the chapter name in the "Truth" book back in 1968. The title's been reworded slightly with each rewrite of what was the latest version of the prescribed study-program book, but that's the question that Jehovah's Witnesses are prodded to ask individuals that study with them. It's a question they will ask everyone but themselves. They will tell you to read their literature to decide what's wrong with your own religion (or non-religion). But they won't read anything but their own stuff to validate their own beliefs.

I hope you stay. Prove how strong you are. Prove what you know. Prove by example. Prove by reason and logic.

From the day I left, I've always said if anyone could prove me wrong, I'd go back. It's been more than four years now.

you know, i wondered the same thing and i have wrestled with this a couple of times. but i must say, I will no longer ask or answer questions regarding our religion. I find it VERY rare for someone to ask a sincere question, and yet the answers get bombarded by apostates telling an active witness what to do. Honestly, can you expect Jehovah to protect you against such nonsense when its something that we dont have to do? Its almost like drinking and then praying to Jehovah for protection as you drive. We know what the scriptures say about bad association and the apostates on here are still against Jehovah. (proven by the fact that they left Jehovah) True enough we can hide their responses, but why "throw yourselves into the lions den" We have many ways to reach people with Jehovah's word and Jehovah said that all will know his name, so its not necessary. I say stick to the non-religious categories. If a persons heart condition is right, Jehovah will see that they come to know him!!!!!!!

I guess it's a matter of conscience. As for me, sometimes I just like to browse and see what non JW responds to such questions about JW and their resasoning. I get a kick on how naive people can be.

I normally don't answer questions such as this.

But here is what I found while waiting for my son.

Phil 1:15 True, some are preaching the Christ through envy and rivalry, but others also through goodwill. 16 The latter are publicizing the Christ out of love, for they know I am set here for the defense of the good news; 17 but the former do it out of contentiousness, not with a pure motive, for they are supposing to stir up tribulation [for me] in my [prison] bonds. 18 What then? [Nothing,] except that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is being publicized, and in this I rejoice. In fact, I will also keep on rejoicing,

Honest hearted ones will see the truth thru the lies.

I've had several non witnesses email asking questions or expressing thanks.

The research I've done has helped me in my door to door ministry.

Is Yahoo answers for all witnesses? Probably not.

I hope this helps.

At first, i felt uncomfortable being in here answering questions about us and I was almost determined not to pursue it any longer when i started to come across accusations about Jehovah and his earthly organization. Of course, it hurt me to see others like Lemming P, Carol D, Sasi, and a few more slander Jehovah (and his faithful slaves). However, i did get a few emails back asking for more information about the Bible and have given them place of their local KHs.

So, for the sake of the few who are out there seeking and searching for the truth, i have come to a decision that it's OK to answer sincere questions on Y&Q from those who are meek. I have to admit though, that sometimes i do answers those who "asks questions sarcastically."

Again, it is up to your conscience and if you must proceed, please brothers and sisters.... PROCEED with extra CAUTIONS. Try to remember, (and sometimes I have to remind myself as well) that we are not here to attack. Only to defend our faith and our brothers who are extremely working hard to give us our spiritual food at the proper time. In due time, Jehovah will see to it that those who have spoken against Him will have their day.

As for us, my beloved brothers, let us continue to fight the fine fight of the faith and get a firm hold on the everlasting life.

Remember the fine example of Jeremiah. He, among many others in Biblical times, fought really hard for the faith. Having such faith, Jeremiah was able to bear witness fearlessly to a rebellious people for more than forty years!

Together and with Jehovah's holy spirit, we can fight this. We all then can echo the words of Jesus found in John 16: 33 "....take courage! I have conquered the world!"

To all my fellow Christians around the world....., AGAPE!!!!

Good question, our (meaning everybody's) posts are a representation of our faith. But posting messages that are taken wrong, or are deliberately demeaning, means that we're human too.

You've pointed out different styles of writing that I'm now noticing. Everyones theological background comes out in what and how they write.

You can certainly be on here. It's myspace you've been told to stay away from. :o)

However, before you ask questions such as this, bear in mind that you are living up to the JW rep of not being able to think independently.

You should know that these "apostates" as you call them, have not turned against JWs and God, but rather against the manipulative, deceitful Watchtower Publishing Company that makes $1 billion a year and has to pay no one cuz you all are workin' for free.

Pay special attention to the fact that they are listed as a Publishing Company and NOT a religion. Didn't you ever wonder why you are called a publisher?

I am one of Jehovah's witnesses and I think there is nothing wrong with answering questions about witnesses. Their are many people that have sincere questions about us perhaps they live in an unassigned territory, perhaps they are persisitently not at home. There is nothing wrong with directing them to their local kingdom hall in their area either. There are alot of apostates, however, as true Christians we know to avoid them and not listen to their twisted logic. Lately we have been admonished to engage in informal witnessing and also to utilize the expanded ministry as well. I go door to door, i have Bible studies, I write letters, I phone witness, I use whatever methods I have to in order to tell people how wonderful Jehovah is and what a wonderful life we have in his organization. Don't get me wrong I don't do chat rooms that i don't think is wise.

Of course you shouldn't. You can not stay a believing JW if you become aware of the equally relevant educated opinions of others and learn the history of your own religion.
