Politely ask her what her objection is... WHY doesn't she want you watching...
If you're around the age of 13 (which is my guess), then I can understand why she is acting this way - she's afraid that there will be issues dealt with on the show that you might get upset by (such as murder, sex, drugs, crime).
Sit down with her, and let her know that you realize that this is just Television - and that you are mature enough to handle what they are showing. Here are some points to go over with her:
You realize that death is a tragic, but necessary part of life - and it should be something that isn't kept quiet about.
Violence is wrong - but it still exists in our society. Same with crime - you know the difference between right and wrong.
Drugs are bad - and the people who deal with them are dangerous, and should be avoided.
(I don't know what to tell her about the Sex side of things - this is the hardest one for parent's to talk about)

Ask your mother why she doesn't want you to watch it. She may feel she is trying to protect you from something. See if you can allay her fears...explain to her why you watch the show, reassure her that you see it merely as entertainment, and you are not extracting any bad values from it.
If all else fails, and you can't convince her, then obey your mother. If you follow bad advice and sneak around to watch it anyway, you will erode the trust she has in you when she finds out. Wait a little while and try to convince her again. You can get the shows on DVD and watch them later, when you are older or have secured her permission.

make an arguement. not like a bad one. a good discussion one. ask her to state her reasons for not letting you watch and then you state your reasons for wanting to watch.
if she still says no. listen.
watch other shows like it if you can. like the fbi files, and those other true story ones (discovery channel)

Ask her why. Tell her that it's making you interested in science. Do some research. Try www.scconline.org

Mind your mother.
It's only a television show and you can watch it in reruns or on dvd when you are older.
