My friend told me that my foreign passport has to be valid for 6 months if I want to travel aboard...is this true? I am a greencard-holder...and I thought this only applies to greencards...?
Please clarify. I intend to travel abroad for only 2 weeks...
Thanks!

Some countries require it, so it is a good rule of thumb to use. But regulations vary from country to country, and then their relations with your country vary too. It isn't all the same. So it depends on what country you are going to and what country you are a citizen of.

Many countries have this requirement. This applies to U.S. Citizens as well. Check with travel agent or foreign consulate when planning your trip.
