I'm a waitress at a diner, and I used to eat there all the time before I started working there. But now since I work there I haven't gone there once to go eat because I feel a little awkward about going there because I think it would be a little weird having someone I work with wait on me. And then when it comes time to tip should I give them more than I normally would tip because I'm making someone I work with wait on me? Or am I better off just going some where else to eat? I dunno....

It is sometimes nice to visit your workplace if you have the time. Much better, as in your case, to eat at the diner where you work once in a while to show that you like the food they serve. I don't think your co-workers would take it against you if they find you eating there? It's a free country, anyway and the truth might be you like the food there,too. As to tip, wouldn't your co-workers be offended if you tipped them above what is normal? In any case, you know your co-workers better so, the amount of tip depends on the person waiting on you - whether she/he will welcome a generous tip from you.

Go there, request Clean food jokingly, and be very playful with them. They're you're co-worker! That means increased rapport with them right off the bat! No awkward cursory periods as is common with most other conversations. Tip normally, Eat normally, and feel free! Bon Appetit!

Hmmm, don't you get to eat there while you are working? But anyway, if you WANT to eat there, then do it. Tip people what they deserve and what you would normally. You sound uncomfortable so maybe you should eat other places and just work there.....

Go somewhere else to eat since you are uncomfortable with eating there. It is good to keep work separate from free time anyway.

Just go somewhere else. It might just be that you know how dirty the place really is, and that creeps you out more than having your friends wait on you.
