Those are the same people that put their hands over their ears and say la-la-la when they don't want to hear something in real-life.

Reading stuff that challenges you is always a good thing--but not if it's only an opportunity to report those who don't agree with you. That idea is centuries-old: Remove those who question so that reality can remain comfortably blanketed in myth and ignorance.
At least if they use the blocking feature, they won't see as many statements to censor.
I know I've got some "thumbs-down" action coming, and wish to thank each and every one of you who do so, in advance. Hey! You could always block me!

It probably is creating nations / islands of individuals thinking similarly. A lot of the meanness disappears, but so does the challenges from other viewpoints.
That's life. Where to make the road, in the middle, to the right, to the left, or just let it go? That seems to be the question for Yahoo.

I think it's a great feature, which may - if used wisely - put an end to the reporting abuse.
If someone's answers irritate you, and they're the sort of person who will report you - block 'em! They can't answer your questions, and they can't report them.

I don't block people I disagree with, I only block stalkers, clones, trolls, and the like.
And so I would say it's made it more fun, because I don't have to worry about those people harassing me.

Unfortunately, when you block people, they don't disappear. They are still there, you can still see them and read their questions. I don't block people who 'challenge' me, I block trolls and people who intentionally set out to insult and spread hatred.

I agree. It is annoying also that people can say inflammatory things about certain groups in their "Qs" yet the people who belong to said group cannot respond because we have been blocked.
That's bullshit!
