The Denon website specifically says that the the 4306 AV Receiver outputs the signal to 1080p. However, I'm not quite sure how to output the signal to 1080p. How is it done?

Your owners manual has this information on page 16!

use the status ( on unit ) or on screen ( on remote to see what resolution is compatible.

You also have to select the HDMI as the only out and to perform the video up conversion. See page 72 and 73. This will simplify your hook up since you will use on hdmi cable to the TV and everything else will hook up via component, s-video or composite.

You may ask why all this trouble, guys like me who have video post processing equipment like to control this ourselves no up conversion. In my opinion the video up conversion Denon offers is much better than anything a TV manufacture has to offer, the only thing better would be to have a separate video processor.

Check your remote; maybe there is a "video" button; as you toggle it, it changes the output to 480i, 480p, 1080i, 720p, 1080p

Or check the settings (or setup) menu, and go to the video-related menu.

Reading the User manual usually helps.
