The funny thing is - the person has you approve comments.
It's clear that the question was taken out of context. The question was obviously such a skewed question when put into the context of the other questions that he needed to clarify what evolution is.
It's like idiots who use the "why do monkies still exist?" question. It's hard to answer because you already assumed, when they asked it, that they knew at least the BASICS of evolution. It just kind of leaves you with a "WTF?" moment where you're wondering what in the world the person is thinking.

First, after the cutaway, I'm not certain that the answer in the clip was necessarily the answer he gave to the question.
The question itself though is on that Christians "think" stumps or blows a hole in evolution. They make the claim that information can only be lost in the genome, and try to say that adaptations are a simply a diminishing of information; that breeding of dogs makes a more simple dog, etc.
One can't be blamed for being stumped by stupidity; have you never found yourself unable to explain something to a 3-year old simply because you lacked the means to make him or her understand, with the answer to the question being beyond their ability to comprehend?
Such is the case when many creationists bring up irrelevant questions. As there is no way yet to measure the amount of "information" in the genome, the question makes no sense. There are examples of chromosomes becoming longer; there may be 23 pairs, but the lenght of these pairs can vary, and as such, be able to contain more or less "information". The current estimate is that we have from 30,000 to 40,000 genes. The number of base pairs per gene varies. We believe that the repetitive telomeres at the ends of the strands serve no purpose other than being a buffer. We also know that some people have more than the 23 pairs, with sex chromosomes such as xxy being not unheard of. Such an individual would necessarily have more genetic information in a cell.
In the end, searching for a way to explain something doesn't mean a person is stumped by a question; especially when it is a question that Christians use so often. When you explain something many times and they simply refuse to "get it", it seems likely that it would take longer to search for an answer that they might comprehend.

People with shallow belief systems must take every small victory they perceive that they get and extrapolate it into everything possible. It is the sign of a weak mind out of its element.

Not stumped, just looking for a way to describe it in a way you can understand. Did you listen to the answer?
Far better answer (and far shorter pause) than I get when I ask my local priest why the child molester priests were allowed to prey on more children with church knowledge, and why they aren't in jail now.

And why don't people realize that those interviewers lied to him and his family to get into his house, and then ambushed him with questions far from the topic of the original interview? Wouldn't you be upset and stunned if you were decieved into bringing those people into your home?

he is "stumped" because he takes a minute to think over his answer?
intellegent people do not answer questions on an immediate basis. they think about it first then answer. this is why we see them as intellegent.
