I don’t know if they are actually called prayer cloths or napkins etc...

But I know people who have talked about them, saying they pray over the cloth and put the cloth under the pillow of their sick relative.

If you do this, could you please explain why and provide me with scriptures so I may study this.

Thank you!

Act 19:11-12
11And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

I first heard of this on Oral Roberts TV show back in the 1950's,
they were receiving such good reports the the church I was attending decided to do it also. they took a cloth and cut it into small squares, anointed them with oil, and the whole church prayed over them. people put them under the pillow of those that they wanted prayer for, without telling the person. so that when the prayer worked, it could not be blamed on the placebo effect.
reports of healings started coming in the next week, and continued to come in from healing to manifestations of the spirit. one woman had a husband with an unruly mouth, and she put the cloths over the doors, front and back, her husband could not understand why but he could no longer cuss in the house.

Read Acts 19. Pay special attention to verses 11 & 12
I do believe that the prayers of the righteous when mixed with the anointing oil do have great affect. I have small prayer cloths over every door into my home and in my Bible. I also have, many times, put them in my oldest son's clothing and in his house.
I hope this helps.

I did it and didn't have to pay money for it. My Pastor and his wife and I prayed over some tissue that my husband would break the addiction of web porn or any porn and that he would lose the desire for it. They told me to put 1 under his pillow and 1 under his computer and about 1 year later it was broken. So I do believe, but it's not some magic, God is the one who can change the desires of man

Sounds like a cute little idea.

But your sick relative or friend might prefer if you just came and visited them and talked to them for awhile.

That might help them get better a lot faster than a cocktail napkin under their pillow.

I believe in the Holy Spirit and God's Word. It says that the Apostle Paul used them and they worked. I have seen many miracles that have resulted in people using them.

If we look at the Prophet who died. They threw a dead man on top of him and the dead man came back to life. I have seen anointed people, including myself, who lay hands on the sick and they recover. People were healed, just by being in the shadow of the Apostle Peter. It is not us, but the Holy Spirit in us, working through us. Read the whole Book of Acts and you will see what I am talking about.

You know, a friend of mine gave me one and I really don't know what to do with it. I asked her about it and she told me that I could pray about whatever I wanted. Kinda like a wish prayer cloth. I am not aware of any reference to this in the bible.

I wonder about that myself. Good question. I've never found any scripture that supports that particular thing and see no reason for it. But, I'm open to a good Bible based explanation.
