Have you had a spinal MRI to see if you have pinched nerves from the accidents that could be causing this?

My other thought from experience is inner ear infection which the doctors can't see by looking in your ear. My doctor had me talk to phys therapy about dealing with inner ear (vertigo) type symptoms. It's really quite different than other ear infections, the doctor said it was like crystals sitting in small hairs inside the skull. Phys therapy has you lay down and they hold your head as you turn different ways so that the crystals dislodge. In my case when I talked to phys therapy they didn't think my symptoms sounded like inner ear and they said for other dizzy / vertigo problems there is a retraining of the brain that needs to be done. So if the symptoms only come when you turn right for instance then they have you turn right over and over until your brain remembers what it's response is suppose to be. I didn't end up going through phys therapy but inadvertantly got the problem fixed in a similar way. They won't charge you anything to go in and discuss what is happening and then you can decide if you think they could help you.

I have a similar problem but just the off-balance condition and I fall often. I was told it could be a lack of Vitamin B in my system. I had it checked and it wasn't that but it might be worth your checking. Good luck with finding out as mine has been going on for 25 to 30 years and no doctor has been able to find a cause. It comes and goes.

Wow you sound like me. First I am assuming you have been to a good ear doctor to make sure it is not your ears. I was so dizzy and off balance it became dibilitating and could not walk some days. Could not think it was almost like trying to think and everything was foggy. Mine was advanced lyme disease, it not only affected my nervous system but my thyroid. Oh yes I only mention the ears because during all this they found I had such a severe inner ear infection (no pain) that I had to have surgery. It is worth checking into. I hope everything goes well. Hang in there I know being so dizzy and off balance is miserable.

Wow, I was surprised when I read other people's answers to see that lots of them have the same symptoms. It sounded like you were reading my medical records. I have type 2 diabetes and if you add in thyroid cancer(surgically removed), uterine cancer (surgically removed), joint pain, and possible mitochondrial disease then you are describing me. I wish I could help you, but as of the last 8 years, I have not been completely diagnosed myself. I also have lots of falls due to the equilibrium issues and recently my blood pressure is bottoming out. Have you had your blood pressure checked? It could be something to do with that or maybe even vertigo. God bless.

Until the doctors can figure out what is wrong with you try taking meclizine. There is a prescription strength (25mg) or you can get the over-the-counter 12.5mg which is sold under the brand name of Bonine.
