The only cure for a hangover is time. Any of the old wives tales you have heard are exactly that...old wives tales. There is nothing out there that will 'cure' you despite the things that some people will swear by. Hey, you played the game, you pay the price. No sympathy from this former medic.
(I love the old...drink lots of strong black coffee...oh sure..now you have a wide awake drunk! LMAO!!)

Depending on the size of person you are, water is crucial. Hydrate LOTS and I usually take 2 Tylenol or Excedrin Migraine if I've mixed boozes (or if I've had sweet drinks) before I hit the sack. Some people say greasy foods (like fast foods, etc.) or milkshakes work, but everyone is different.
The best advice I can give you: You gonna be dumb enough to drink to the point of 'drunk', then you gotta learn by trial and error on that one, dude. Everyone's body chemistry is different and may or may not get over a certain type of hangover easier than others. Good luck next time.

I have a lot to say. Learned lately that if I have bloody marys I do NOT get a hangover nomatter how much I drink.... because the juice is FOOD, and I started putting less V8 in the BM if I wanted a faster buzz and it still works.... with lots lemon juice, worstishire, lime, even horseradish and delish......
Ok, I usually like my booze straight but CAN still get a good buzz with the V8 or TJ, and can drink a longer amount of time..... but i nosh while drinking, have to, and I know some may not like bloody marys. But it works for me having been a martini and Manhattans gal and the BMary is just fine in spite of it. OR if you want to start out with a real stiff drink, then taper off afterwards by pouring in the v8 or Tj. Believe me, I've been at this for a lifetime, having owned a club, and have been through all the research...... also pepto bismal before drinking also helps loll....
Dr. Oz says to eat eggs, the yolks are what help in moring, but I can't do that AM's after drinking. My old standbys were always LOTS of carbs, pasta and PIZZA if in the house, because of the OILS which a lot of people recomment and it works. If really sick, then I can ONLY have clear chicken soup [I dont get sick in the AM anymore but used to be a social drinker and did, and the older I get the more I just need the soup, sometimes food makes me worse].
Oz also says coffee which surprised me because we're supposed to calm ourselfves to SLEEP because sleep is the BEST remedy and coffee will prevent that. LOTS of water before bed and when waking up and if you can....even WHILE you're drinking and take aspirins before bed and when waking up. I USED to need malteds and/or ice cream, but now the Chicken soup is very soothing and need it nice and HOT.
But SLEEP and WATER are the main things, and carbs... pizza is supposed to really be the best, works for me, but hard to have in house so other kinds of oily things probably good too. Just sleep if you can when you wake up the TIME takes it away and you spend it resting your body which is most important...... so NO coffee, which will keep you awake and give you MORE jutters..... OH...... take many B vitamins, that helps too, and before you drink also. Take whatever above that suits your body best. Experiment. I even tried charcoal pills but didn't see much of a difference..... drug stores carry them, maybe they'd work for you. I don't drink OFTEN, never did.... but when I DO ocassionally drink, I drink a lot that night, I get very BAD hangovers as opposed to my friends, who get none, but they get drunker than I ....I only get it the next day, but am not that affected by alcohol WHEN drinking.... i'm one of those with a hallow leg, I would prefer the no hangovers better.

This is from experience so here goes:
Alchohol dehydrates you, so drink some water in between drinks. That helps to put back the liquids. Cuz while you are drinking alchohol, you are very likely to go for a piss and that makes it worst. Get in some water at this stage.
When you get home (assuming you are still sober... 8->)) drink more water before you head off to bed.
Avoid coffee cuz that's a diuretic (I think I got the spelling right) and makes you pee more and makes your hangover much, much worse... Also caffeine is a "upper" and alchohol is a depressant so these two will clash when you need to sleep well.
Also... get lots of zzzzzzzzzz

Cure it the next morning. Water doesnt really help if you drank alot the night before. a.m hangover cures:
Beer, if you're okay with drinking it first thing in the a.m.
Sprite with a TOUCH of vodka (1/2 oz) if you have to go to work.
If you like tomato juice, Mix 3 parts of it with one part vodka. Add celery salt and a bit of lemon. Pour over ice. This is basically a Bloody Mary without spices, but a bunch of spicy stuff wont help a hangover.

get some sleep, hopefully you'll sleep through most of it. Also, eat some food if you can. Take advantage of the drunk munchies!

before going to bed drink as much water as you can without being sick and take two tylenol.when you wake up again drink as much water as you can without being sick and another two tylenol.then take the hottest shower or bath that you can standfor as long as you can stand then a cool rinse.then eat some fruit mangoes,bananas,watermelon anything but acidic citrus.a little yogourt and some coffe and you'll be right as rain
