Hi. I am 18, i am just over 230 lbs. I have tried many diets but they all seem to fail. I eat a pretty balanced diet. 2,000 calories. I want to get back down into a size 12 if possible. Any suggestions of tips???

Hi Shelby,

I am 23 and was around that weight. No matter what diet or non-diet you choose to follow I think one good piece of advice is to cut out all the useless, empty calorie "snack foods" and if you can cut out or cutback on the "bad sugars" as found in white bread, pasta and too many potatoes.

I recently made those changes (your snack could be something natural like a banana) and started exercising and weight lifting five times a week and lost 13 pounds in two weeks. Cravings too have largely disappeared.

It may sound terrible, but the healthiest way is to go vegetarian. Don't eat meat. Meat = FAT So just don't eat it. And people may say that u need the protein. Many things also have protein. Beans are a good source. It worked for me and it wasn't terrible.

Eat a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. Add walking to your routine. Set small, reasonable monthly goals.

I was watching Oprah today, and she had Bob Greene on. His "The Best Life Diet," really sounded sensible. Why don't you go to oprah.com or thebestlifediet.com and read about it. I think you will be pleased.

you should be eating way less than 2000 caloriesif you wanna lose weight, not under about 1200 though, just exercise..walking is good. and eat better

weight watchers is really good, i tried it and lost 20 pounds on it and have kept it off
