9/11 was the result of religious fanatics and the desire to give America what the fanatics thought we deserved. It is a struggle of religion - Muslims are simply doing what Christians have done for hundreds of years. No, it's not right, but fanatical faith is a descructive force, no matter what the religion.

I am getting really tired of Christians who say 9/11 was a punishment for the things they preach against. That is moronic. It would be like me saying 9/11 happened because the Goddess was punishing America for its turn toward Christianity. It just isn't true.

None of them. Who says God is punishing us? If it is the case where God is punishing us (which I don't think is the case even though I strongly believe the next few sentences even if 9/11 didn't happen), then I would say it was because we Americans are not living up to the standard that our founding fathers had started. Our country has been getting away from where we came from and unless we start moving toward where we came from then this country will tear itself apart from inside out. I believe we can be the country that God has called us to be. Calling all Christians....Remember to pray for this country!!!!!!

The other answer requires a god to exist and that that god care about feminists, gays or abortionists (or the ACLU) enough to actually punish a bunch of *completely unrelated people* to whip them back into shape.
