The troubles with nowadays christians are because they are all trying to live Christ-life (Christian life) by their own natural life. Immagine a fish trying to lives a human life !
Do you think that is possible ?
Some carnal christianity abound.
Paul says, It is longer I that liveth but Christ that liveth in Me ?

Can you says that too ?

The Word of God declares, "Be ye perfect even as I Am Perfect"

And christians says we cannot be perfect and they claimed the Word of God never lies.

I believes what the Word of God declares I also believes 100% - not making excuses when you can't comprehend it nor believes it, RATIONALIZATION !

You either believes what the Word of God says you are and can be as written in the Bible by the holy men of God as they are inspired by the Spirit of God or you have to rejected the whole Bible as a fable.

Please remember all the truths that follows Romans chapter 7 and don't just stop there.

Food for thought: Christians , could it be that the reason why your christian lkiving is so devoid of power, signs and miracles is because Jesus Christ is not living the christian life in you but you yourself even though He is within you?

I don't believe Paul said that anywhere. Acts tells us "They were called Christians first in Antioch." It doesn't stand for people who live perfect lives. Paul did say he could not do that--the good that he wants to do, that he doesn't do--me too. But being a Christian means a person is a follower of Jesus Christ. He lead the way and we all stumble and fumble as we follow.

At the same time, I do believe that being a Christian is about living a certain lifestyle that should be "distinctive and identifiable," and that a practicing Christian will exhibit a particular kind of behaviour. For example, if it were not for Christian organizations, there would almost be no one feeding the starving in third world countries. It is a Christian attribute to show compassion, feed the poor, and help stop starvation. Of course, in our culture, sometimes it seems like there is no difference between Christians and others.

If it were not for Christians, believe it or not, most of the human rights people have in our country today would not exist--including the abolishion of slavery, discrimination, and even freedom of speech which many non-Christians freely enjoy, etc. Can you imagine that, all those on these sights, complaining and insulting and verbally hating Christianity owe their freedom of speech to Christians who started the human rights movement.

I believe we can live a Christian life, we just can't seem to live perfect, sinless lives. Still, Christianity does change people, doesn't it? Unfortunately, "the gospel only comes as good news to those who are ready to give up their old lifestyles."

Right you are. No one can live the Christian life but Christ. However, with the Spirit of Christ in us, we can achieve a measure of the Christ life. We run the race and fall and get up and run and fall and get up again. Perfection comes in Heaven. Since I became a Christian there are certain things that I used to do that I chose not to do now because the Spirit of Christ has made then distasteful to me. Left to myself I would probably be sitting in a bar somewhere getting drunk. Well, you get the picture. Only Christ is perfect, we are perfected by the washing away of sins by His blood. When we trust in Him He takes the sin away and we stand perfect before God thanks to Jesus. Blessings

hahah thats an important point and a very good one. Yet let me also point out that man is sinful and corrupt because of sin. We can "Model" our lives after Christ, but realize Christ was fully man and God. He had to live a perfect and sinless life so they when we made mistakes in the future, they could be forgiven. The bible doesn't say to live a perfect life, but a live free of sin to the best of your HUMAN ability! Even the greatest Godly CHrist-like men made mistakes in their walk with Jesus, but He used them anyways. Perfect example is king David!

This is not true. No one but Christ can live the perfect life or a life without sin. When you are born again, saved by the blood, and faithfull in obedience ..you are living the Christian life. Do we still sin ? Yes we stumble at times , but as we mature in our walk with Christ we sin less and less. So yes. If your heart is right with God ..you absolutely can. Cap'nArlo

Not in my own strength, but in God who strengthens me, yes we can. We christians realize that no one can or ever will be perfect and all of us were created equal. We are no better than anyone else, just forgiven by Our Creator. To live a christian life is not to live perfectly, as we cannot. To live a christian life is to live in Christ who changes us into a new creature (born again). By our Faith in Jesus, we are given the Holy Spirit who guides us, gives us understanding of the Word of God, peace, comfort and joy that surpasses all human understanding. Our Faith in Jesus gives us the DESIRE to live for Him and in Him. Jesus strengthens us and gives us hope that the world will never know. And we cannot live this christian life apart from our Faith that CHANGES us!! God bless

i believe we live the best to our ability as a Christian person in the flesh. Christianity is more of the spirit and the faith you have in Christ. we could never take the place of Jesus Christ his walk on earth was of great suffering and teachings for us. and the bible state we should be Christ like not in perfection as he was.

Since you don't define what you mean by a "Christian life", I assume you mean perfection, and no, no one can live perfectly. We still have the sin nature and our flesh to contend with. But those who are of the believing, are in the sanctification process. As we grow in Christ, we walk closer to Him, seek to do His will, change our desires to those that please Him. God is in charge of the sanctification process and He has us where He wants us at any particular time. Some are farther along in this process than others, but He is in charge and will perfect us according to His will and good pleasure. As we walk more in the Spirit, and less in the flesh, we move further along in that process.

Living the Christian life means we admit to God that we have done things wrong. It's a given that we wont be perfect. But we follow the example of the Man who offers to forgive us when we fail.
