Why not, cause there is not any owner points with it.
If Jr drives the 25, 5 or 8 or any other number in the top 35 in car owner points he will be locked into the first 5 races of the 2008 season.
If he starts with a new number he will have to qualify on time for the first 5 races of 2008.
Could you imagine him not making the Daytona 500 and Derick Cope making it cause Dale Jr got caught in a crash in the Gatorade Duals. I don't think they will take that chance with two or there numbers they could be locked in with. 60+ cars try to make it into the Daytona 500.

Was Ricki Rachtman with Poison? What is he "famous" for? I think the 08 is not the solution, and as for the people who have 8 tattooed on themselves, that brings to mind the commercial where Jr changes his number and then says Just Kidding. LOL

Sure. Alot of folks throwing that one around. Might be nice; especially for all of those with an 8 tatooed on them.
I like how Ricky Rathmann is trying to get a campaign going called "Free the 8" to get Fans to pressure Teresa to swap numbers with Hendricks.
The 8 has become synonymous with Junior, just as the 3 with Dale Sr.; 24 with Gordon; and the 43 with Petty. Of course Petty, Earnhardt Sr. and Gordon are legends. What happens with Junior is yet to be told.

Numbers with "0" in front are not as cool. It makes you seem almost second to the guy who has the real number. I don't know what Dale is going to do, but that is just my opinion. (By the way, I like Clint, nothing against him)^_^

kairi Clint Bowyers # is 07 because Jack Daniels is Old No7 brand.
I think the reason Jr wants the #8 is because he brought that # into DEI, it wasn't like he stepped into a car they already had there, so it belongs to him. Plus it has sentimental value for him.

That was suggested a few weeks ago when the anouncement was made,and the commint was we are working on a number..
But I think it would be cool.
