Well if you are friends ask him to go to the movies to seea nything
if hes not ur friend get to know him and he acts weird then chances are he does have a girlfriend but give it time

Well, first and foremost, and I know it is probably something you don't want to hear, but you really should verify his situation before making the move. If you can't respect relations between others just to satisfy your own desires and feel comfortable doing that then I am scared of you girlfriend by the time you become of age! (Just kidding - you wouldn't be the first and certainly wouldn't even be close to the last of those women that go out to stake their claims!)
On a more serious note, if you were the girlfriend of this guy, and there was some other chick out there that wanted to make the moves on your boyfriend, wouldn't that make you think of that chick as a bit unscrupulous?
On a more positive note, it truly is up to the boyfriend to respect his supposed girlfriend so if you were never able to verify his status and decided to tell him you liked him I guess you would find out his true situation!
Only you can truly know how to proceed by your upbringing and the type of person you are and those boundaries that you set for yourself. I think it is cool that you ask for advice, but in the end, you really must make the decision you feel right about and that way you will never have any regrets and could never blame anyone!

Simply ask Zach if he's seeing someone - - always be honest! But there's no harm in telling him how you feel and that if down the road you're still available, you wouldn't mind going out with him some time.

Well that's easy. Just make casual conversation and be like "Sooo, who are you going out with these days?" And if he doesn't have a girlfriend, plan a day to hang out and see what happens.

Just keep the feelings to yourself. You will end up being the relationship wrecker if you let it go. Just wait until he will unfold his feelings for you. It's always modest for the girl to wait what the boy has to say.
