Of course they can most of them own and conceal some of the best weapons available.. Some can even apply to do it legally after a certain amount of time has passed. The law varies from state to state.

No. This is a right they lost when they commited the FELONY. Misdemeanors are not included. With the exception of domestic violence. Which in some states is a misdemeanor. This is a Federal Law not just a St. law. And besides why would you want to put a firearm into the hands of a Felon?

A convicted felon loses his/her right to own a firearm. Sometimes you can petition the court to get back the right, but not often. However, a convicted felon can own a black powder revolver, shotgun, or rifle. The ATF does not classify them as firearms.
Further, a convicted felon cannot even be around firearms, even at a friends house.

you need to apply to your state for a restoration of rights and to the US treasury(i belive the treasury). it is unlikely. The goal is to eventually strip everyone of their right to self defense and make them more reliant on the gov't for protection.
