If you believe that explain to me why people kill themselves when they feel the have been given more than they can handle. And don't say its free will and all that stuff. God is the past, present, and future right so wouldn't he be able to see those people killing themselves because they can't handle what they have been given.

Suicide is a sin. God is not the author of sin. Sin is a choice man makes all by himself...

You don't know the ins and outs of every persons thoughts and motives. God does. He does not give anyone more than they can handle but that doesn't mean that the individual won't take on more than they can handle and then refuse to let it go when it starts to take over their lives. Suicide is the single most selfish thing a person can do. (Abortion is a very close second but that's another issue) Suicide is certainly a choice. 99.9% of suicides occur by choice. This is not God's fault. People choose to give up and give in to sin. Suicide is sin. This means that it can be forgiven like any other sin. You are correct that God sees the end of every person's life. This means He also knows whether that person has accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Commiting suicide does not mean that an individual will go to hell. Saved is saved but that person was certainly in a bad place at the time of their death.

The issue here is that people try to handle it on their own. The scripture that this is referring to is in 1 Corinthians 10:13. These problems and stuff we face have been faced by others, maybe not in the exact same circumstances but close. God will provide a way to cope with it or a solution but we must be willing to accept that solution. We must also ask for his help, then he can help us deal with it. God loved us enough to send Jesus to feel and experience the things we do so that we might have someone to come to in our time of need.

I don't believe this saying because I think that if we are being stubborn with him he will try to bring the subject to a head by actually giving us more than we can handle so we will turn to him and if we do not then I think he feels he didn't miss anything anyway.

Rogue, I believe your question in sincere, and I understand it. I have dealt with suicide myself (9 people around me, family and friends, including me) it is hard. But all of them, including me at the time, didn't know God. God makes his promises only to those who are HIS.The only promise to all the people that don't know and accept Him, is the promise that if they wish, freely they can have eternal life by accepting Jesus in their heart. That is the only promise that is to all human being.

Now when I comited suicide (you should read my testimony to get all the details)

I didn't know God, I thought I had no other choice and not other way. I thought by killing myself I would get to him and be rid of this dreadful life. Little did I know it wasn't God's plan. But to all those who have God in their lives, He will give us all EVERYTHING WE NEED to get through what ever.

I can tell you that I have been through worse things since I am with the Lord and their have been many miracles, where GOd enterveened! He always does, if we turn to Him HE WILL PROVIDE. Read my testimony, you'll understand.

It's not free will or anything like that, although I could say it is, and from a certain point of view that may be true, but the truth is that our mortal minds aren't capable of considering the entire universal plan at the one time. This means we don't know how the events of our life may effect the universal plan, and vice versa.

Let us get this answer straight. You are given, in this life, something to LEARN. If you do not learn it, you have to start all over again until you DO.
The harder you are pressed, the MORE you learn. "Pressure makes diamonds" comes to mind.

People that kill themselves think they are taking the easy way out. Guess what. They have to start ALL OVER again.

God does put us through trials and tests and He won't put more on us than we can bear, but a lot of the stuff that happens to us, we bring upon ourselves. The trials that God puts us through are for our benefit. People end up reaping what they sew and I know God would rather have someone repent and turn to Him than to have them take their own life.

People CAN'T handle everything that comes their way WITHOUT God's help. This is His way of getting us to simply trust Him. But often times, we're stupid and don't do it. This doesn't always result in extremes such as suicides obviously, but it does lead to feeling overwhelmed.

If God only puts people through what he knows they can handle, why do so many (millions) die because of something they themselves are not responsible for?
For example, natural disasters, murder, genocide, disease, auto accidents, etc? If they could handle it, why'd they die?

Good question.

I hate these trite expressions.

The ones that can handle it do so.

The ones that can't do not hang around to remind us that these people got more than they could cope with.

All those tsunami victims - they could of handled it if they had enough faith.
