Because it gives rewards for illegals who have broken our law and nothing good for Americans.

I agree - you need to wake up. Why should we just freely open our doors to someone who doesn't even have the forthright to learn about the United States. If we as Americans want to go to another country and become a permanent resident, we are expected to become a citizen through the normal process. Why should people in Mexico get a break that others do not get? And I say Mexico since this is the reason this bill even came up. I think it's a huge mistake. We have enough problems with welfare, health insurance, crime without adding more to the population which will in turn cause more problems. I've lived in a border state before and have seen what happens. If the USA is such a great place to live, then do it legally and don't hide behind some immigration bill that will basically (in time) let you just walk in - earn your way like everyone else that has moved to the USA legally.

I would try to explain all the reasons to you but I don't think you would be very receptive. Why don't you google the actual bill itself and see what you find. I especially did not like the part about allowing "noncitizens" to join the military. If these aliens serve for 2 years, they are automatically granted citizenship. Make 'em fight to live here--right? WRONG. The problem is that there are OTM's coming across the border too. That's an official acronym that stands for "other than mexican." So these OTM's cannot be classified, yet I can think of one: terrorist. How would you like a terrorist coming in on the guise of an illegal trying to obtain citizenship...how would you like them to join the military, and infiltrate our great country from the inside out? Let's just go ahead and hand them the keys to the U.S., because that is exactly what that amnesty bill is doing. And btw, I am a republican..just like George W, and I DON'T SUPPORT IT!

Because it is a bill against America, and the American people. After all, our American forefathers worked hard to build this country and we work hard to sustain it. NOT Mexicans. They neither love or respect OUR country. And if they are so hardworking (I am sick of that phrase), then why don't they work hard to build their own country? No, it is simply EASIER to sneak over to America and take all THEY can from OUR wimp government.
I could write you pages on why this is NOT a very good bill. However, the way you are "speaking" lends me to think that you are from the other side of the fence, and are looking at this bill from a completely different perspective than Americans are. I'll waste no more time on your question.

How about you wake up? Easy for you to say that unpaid medical bills and broken laws don't matter.
Not only will lawbreakers be rewarded, but they will end up with more rights and perks than the people who came here legally, including other Mexicans. If you find that acceptable, then you have no concept of right and wrong, and no concept of society in general. Not to mention that the bill doesn't close the border so, in five or ten years, we'll being doing this amnesty thing for the FOURTH time. Can we not just get it right for once?!

What Americans understand is that the government has failed and refused to enforce the laws we have now. We simply don't have any reason to believe they will enforce any part of this one.
What we'd really like to see is a law that calls for automatic deportation of anyone who is not a citizen who is convicted of a crime, legal or otherwise, unless the state governor specifically requests they be held in a US jail. For legals, that means revocation of legal status, and for illegals, that would include forfeiture of all property in the US.
We know what's in the bill. We know it's good for Mexican daylaborers and Indian computer programmers, but we still think it sucks.
We also think Congress works for us, not you.

Addios Amigo--this bill will die for good over the weekend. We do not need to triple the number of H1B visa's that companies have been using to weed out their high-paid workers as there is no shortage's based on the latest data.
I don't wish to compete for a job that I trained 5 years with an illegal that will do my job for 1/3 of the pay.
The prospect of our Gov't being able to keep track of and maintain the whereabouts of 12 million + illegals is unfathomable.

Some people see "illegal" as plain old "unlawful" or even "against the law." Funny, that. Some also do not understand how high the $8000.- fine really is for these people. It can be anywhere from a half to a whole year's pay for many of the illegal immigrants. IF it will be enforced, it is a high enough fine to charge them for breaking our laws. Laws of a neighboring country -- including immigration laws -- should be respected, regardless of how much better life seems to be in that country.

Really?
You need to stop smoking the Ganja.
This bill is nothing but Amnesty and a prelude to the North American Union.
Just crime, slime and disease from south of the border (Previously known as the Southern US Border.)

Maybe because it IS NOT A GOOD THING?
Unless of course if you like the North American Union between Mexico, the USA and Canada that this bill is trying to push forth!
