An Illegal immigrant cannot join the military. However, someone who has legally immigrated to the US may join the armed services to help in 'fast tracking' their application to become a citizen. Successfully completing a tour of service in the military can knock off several years on the waiting period to become a US Citizen.

It happens all the time, even if you support it or not. The thing is that is not offered to "illegals" from the south. Filipinos join the military all the time and after serving a certain amount of time they are granted citenship for them and their families.
Now on a personal note, I belive that the govement should extend that to the people of Latin America who wish to do the same.

No......I don't. I know many do, but I don't feel citizenship is something you barter for. How would you ever know or be able to trust their intent? I know they've had problems with gang members signing up and being able then to get their hands on military weapons to send back to the streets here. I mean doesn't anybody see the great potential for sabatoge and direct threat to this country for that? I mean we know they are smuggling trained terriorists here and in order to be PC they won't discriminate and here you have the enemy on your side then. I mean of all the times when it's more and more difficult to know who is friend or foe......I find it to be more a danger than a help. Talk about the potential for distruction from the inside out.

Half of US High School seniors do not meet the minimum standards for enlistment in the Army. What makes you think that illegal immigrants would?

Nope. If they are willing to die for citizenship paper, they'd probably be willing to betray for corruption money. No illegal aliens should be allowed to register. Illegal aliens are killing more Americans than the Iraq war, says a new report from Family Security Matters that estimates some 2,158 murders are committed every year by illegal aliens in the U.S. We can't trust them not to snitch on US soldiers when bribed by our enemies.

Our American soldiers serve because they are fighting to protect America and they are patriots, not for a reward.

You have to have a green card to join, so my answer is no. However! I would ease some of the time restrictions for those green card holders willing to serve our great nation to become citizens. One good deed begets another.

I support any person that loves this country enough to put their lives on the line for it, so yes, I am supportive of the illegals joining to gain citizenship. It shows me that even if they entered this country the wrong way, they love it enough to die for it, and that deserves citizenship.

Negative. They are criminals. I would agree that a legal immigrant wants to join the military and is qualified should be able to. In fact if he distinguishes himself/herself they should be fast-tracked to receiving citizenship. Such people will have proven to be good material to be Americans.
