its actually hard to be an atheist. Its basically not the standard. I see something like 12% or something like that as the quoted percentage of atheists in america. Its easier for the people I work with to say that the world is 5,000 yrs old than for me to say theres no such thing as god. That fossils were planted as a vast conspiracy to make the bible look wrong. Having their kids as little christian warriors or fighters for god. Saying God inspired the war in Iraq. The stupidity is endless.

No-one in Australia really cares if you are atheist. We are far more worried about the rise in the religious right and the Biblical fundies. They have already taken over one political party and are going to cause major problems. Atheists are fine. They are good people and most of them are intelligent - which is more than you can say about the fundies.

I believe everything is simply playing out the way it's supposed to. I'm sure there will be more atheists out, there will be more atheists period. This is part of what will make our world so ripe for the ultimate anti-Christ, and the final battle. That's the way we were told it would be. Is anyone surprised?

Atheists have an incredible faith.
They believe that everything came into existance without a designer,without a maker.If you start without absolutely nothing,nothing is never going to be more than nothing without bringing something into existance.That requiers a Creator. Atheism is completely unscientific.

I know far more atheists than one would expect based on national (USA) statistics, but then many of the people I know also tend to be far more intelligent than average. Still, I suspect that there are many more atheists than polls show.

I think there are way more. I don't usually make a point out of telling people and the stuff I do in public, I tend to keep a separation from anything that might come into my private life.

If people discriminate against me because I do not believe in god, it just makes me feel even more sorry for them. I am so far above such nonsense, I'm probably the next stage in human evolution and I don't even know it.

I think many "cultural" church goers are starting to question their religious beliefs in the light of the surge of the Muslim jihadists and the the writings of Dawkins and Harris.

In my country, atheist are just another human being ...... christians are pushing down their idea, but most people reject it because there are so many loopholes ..... but having said that, those who accepted it became quite pushy type too.
