Dehydration can do all sorts of negative things. Mostly, it can make you dizzy, confused, and faint. Very weak. So...due to the weakness, yes, your back could hurt.
Remember, the body needs water. It is nature's elixir. Not Coke, Pepsi, coffee, blah, blah, blah....it needs water first.
(Also...don't be a priss, tap water is fine!)

Dehydration can cause just about anything. Joint or muscle aches, abdominal pain, skin sensitivity, heart palpitations, lethargy, fainting.
Drink water.
If you suspect you are becoming dehydrated, drink a full glass of water and rest for a while (30 minutes) then drink another glass of water and keep resting. If you think you may already be dehydrated or have fainted, you should go to your local emergency room where they will give you intravenous fluid. You may be chilled during the IV, which is normal. Ask for a warm blanket and you will be fine. If your pain is related to dehydration, it will subside once you are re-hydrated.
If your pain continues, you should contact your physician. You may have a herniated or ruptured disc, pulled a muscle, or even have a kidney problem (stones, infection, etc.) which is usually felt in the lower back.

You have pinched muscles in your back causing that to happen. When the back muscles are pinched they often send the pain around the body on the nerves to become pains in the rib, chest or heart areas. Freeing up your back muscles will get rid of the pain and here's how to free them up: Back: (do from a sitting position) Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
